How to stop automatic downloads from starting?

Featured Replies

I notice when I start MSFS, I'll get a notification that downloads have started.

How do I manually control this? I didn't see anything in the data section under settings.

Thanks,

Mark

I'm pretty sure this only happens when everything you purchased isn't installed yet, or when there is a new update for all users, and those are mandatory and can't be avoided.  FWIW, for 2.8y now I've never had a download/update that I didn't essentially approve/authorize, IOW clicked 'Update' or whatever the prompt was.

Hi Mark,

If you open XBox application then choose "Display waiting list" at the bottom left corner of the XBox Windows. Then after selecting this choice you can see in the right part of the interface a tick to enable or disable automatic updates.

In your case, It must be unchecked !

Are you deleting items?  MSFS will put them back..

Not true, I unloaded almost every default aircraft, lessons, adventures, etc..   They stay off my my harddrive.

If you manually delete default content outside of the sim, rather than uninstalling it from the Content Manager in MSFS, then you will have the packages reinstall themselves at MSFS startup.

If you haven't attempted to delete outside the sim's own manager, then it sounds as though your program has a configuration issue that causes the sim to think there is missing content. A reinstall may be the only fix.
