Sierrasim Simulation has released La Tontouta International Airport for v6. I guess that means they will be updating their other airports for v6.

simMarket: LA TONTOUTA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT P3D6

If you're on the fence w/r/t P3Dv6 or keeping P3Dv4 or v5 installed, it's best to buy the P3Dv4-v5 version and then avail yourself of the free upgrade to the v6 version so you have both.

Install into v5 first.

Copy the AIG folder from the v5 to the v6 addons folder ( in My documents/Prepard v* addons directory).

Then copy the line from the v5 addons.cfg file into the v6 one (this is in your ProgramData directory)

I think that's all I did.

From the P3D site is states the following"

Prepar3D offers students and professionals a multi-domain platform to:

  • Experience a scenario before it happens to increase effectiveness and reduce response time
  • Learn and test their knowledge in the same environment in which they will operate
  • Re-create scenarios with operational data and experiment with different variables
  • Experience a learning lab where science, technology, engineering and math principles are taught in an immersive environment
  • Train for scenarios in aviation, air traffic control, ground vehicle operation and disaster response
  • Prepar3D furthers the development of Microsoft® ESP™ while maintaining compatibility with Microsoft Flight Simulator X, allowing many thousands of add-ons to be used within Prepar3D.

Real Air Turbine Duke

My appreciation DavidP for reminding me about this fiery beauty. For some reason, I remember not, I'd dumped it years ago. Maybe I'd found it buggy. Just been to Real Air site, which recognised me and no mention of a serial number, long lost, re-installed it successfully to P3D v5.4 and test flight EGBB - EGBJ.

Excellent performance, distinctive sound effect, and what a looker!

So, thanks to you, now I'm gonna install it to P3D v6. Badly needed cos the LM smaller planes are so crudely modelled.

I sure I'll enjoy really this.

'Ere goes

How do you install this to V5 & V6?

Thanks.

Hi dbw1

I think you can get the Real Air Duke (from the Real Air site) only if you originally bought it, several years ago The site asked for my first name, second name and email address. (It did not ask me for a longer key number; just as well cos I've shredded that many moons ago). In the installation process you see a column of options; FSX and then a series of early P3D versions. Don't be put off by FSX being a fixed and unchangeable selection.

When it asks you where you want it installed, I recall (not so good these days near-on 70) that you browse and select C:\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\P3Dv5   (or ....P3Dv6 ......as appropriate)

(For P3Dv6, it might then mysteriously find itself put (by LM's programming, I guess) in C:\Users\UserDocuments\Prepare3D v6 Add-ons\Sim Objects Airplanes\Real Air Duke....)

Don't be put off by seeing an error phrase about not finding FSX root folder/file, I just ignored it. Also you may see a series of 4 or 5 error messages; just go ahead and ignore 'em.

My confession, dbw1, is that I'm not tech savvy, so i hope you will get confirmation on correct process (maybe workarounds) from other experts on this site. You might even start a completely new thread to get them to see your request.

Good luck, because it really is worth it! This is an astonishing achievement by the 2 guys at Real Air.

For users of OpusFSI's camera control, Stephen just released a new version 6.31.0 compiled with the v5.4 SDK that LM says should be compatible with both P3D v5.4 and v6.

Has anyone tried installing CYYZ Toronto from Flytampa ?  I have it installed in v6 but the numbers are blurry. Unreadable. talking about gate number on the tarmac and the gate number at the gate. The runway numbers are a little blurry but readable.

I installed Buffalo from Flytampa into v6 and it is just like it was on v4. I also installed CYUL Montreal from Flytampa and it's fine as well. Just that word not allowed CYYZ

I actually jumped from 4.5 to 6 I didn't get version 5. But most stuff seems to have loaded ok. The PMDG 737 works great although some have said the cockpit is too dark but I find it find. The only thing ive noticed is the parking brake light doesn't work. Otherwise I love it.

I forgot to mention, I also have the Real Air Duke Turbo and it works great. I also have put the GTN 750 into it and the A2A planes as well, Piper and the C172. Plus others.

I didn't get La Tontuta airport  but I did get Lynden Pindling International Airport (IATA: NAS, ICAO: MYNN  for v6 which happened to be on sale for 9.60 euros..

simMarket: LYNDEN PINDLING INTL AIRPORT MYNN P3D5-6   by sierrasim. And it is Nassau International airport if you're wondering where it is.
