FPS beta vs. non beta

Featured Replies

Since the moderators closed the long beta thread around Tuesday, I had to put this in a new thread.

The fps is faster and has less stutters in the non beta than in the beta, under all conditions.

-----------

I think this is also true: the less powerful your computer, the more you will notice the difference between beta and non beta.

---------

In the beta, both of these things helps to add fps:

install the new DLSS.dll file (if you don't have a 4000 card). If you do have 4000 card, then install the new DLSSG.dll file.

Use DX11 instead of DX12

---

But not being in the beta will still give better fps, regardless of any of the above. I don't think that is likely to change with the official release version either 😞

Many People on the MSFS forum also sees fps dropping when switching to the beta. (There's no pleasing old Many, Mr. People is always complaining).

This is always the problem Fielder.  Improving the visuals usually hurts fps and induces stutters whilst improving the fps hurts quality.  I'm afraid that we will always be limited by the power of our PCs along with the archaic coding within msfs - which is one of the big reason for msfs2004.

@Fielder,

thank you for your hints.

I am not in the beta, but I'm curious about that step - install the new DLSS.dll file (if you don't have a 4000 card).

Where do we get that from?

I'm on DX11 since a long time ago. I was enthusiastic about DX12 but it brought problems with the FBW 320 and also the FENIX, so I reverted to DX11 and I am more than good with it, graphics wise... Also stable and smooth.

Fixed this for you 😄

I'm afraid that we will always be limited by the power of our PCs XBox Series S along with the archaic coding within msfs - which is one of the big reason for MSFS 2024 will run on Series S too.

I wonder if anyone has detected the extra piston engine logic yet.  Do you think it needs activating by use of extra lines in the config of the aircraft, or if Asobo / WT have even selected a test aircraft for this yet such as the C172.   I would love to see if it leans properly for a start.

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.
