Horizon Simulations Announces the 787-9

Sounds like a pretty ambitious project for the 789, obviously a bit away though but something to look forwards to in the future hopefully.

I’d love to see a VSD on the 78 and more of the integrated EFB functions like landing performance and possibility chart integration and a moving map/en route chart.

`The work WT have done in AAU2  (and are continuing to do in the beta) for the asobo 787 is quite frankly amazing though.

Fingers crossed for route download to the FMC also.

I wonder if Kuro is also involved in this 787-9.

Possibly. It seems odd though that Kuro can do a 788 mod but would then be part involved in a separate 789 mod under a different name or as part of a different project?

Is the Kuro safe to install or does it fiddle with the original 787-10?

I dont want to upset my MSFS installation. Is it more than just visual?

Thanks

It‘s safe. Gets added as a separate product to the community folder.
It‘s a lot more than just visual, mostly -8ish flight dynamics etc.

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

They seem to co-exist perfectly to me.  But if you don't like it or find a problem, as stated above by Fiorentoni, it takes seconds to remove it from your community folder to get back to where you started.

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Intel 14900K in a Z790 motherboard with water cooling, RTX 4080, 32 GB 6000 CL30 DDR5 RAM, W11 and MSFS on Samsung 980 Pro NVME SSD's.  Core Isolation Off, Game Mode Off.

They seem to be linked in some way...

"In our FSElite interview with Horizon Simulations, they previously said they had no plans in the pipeline to work on a Boeing 787-9 as the focus was on the Kuro 787-8 and LatinVFR Airbus series, but since the interview went live some things have changed and they have decided to push efforts on creating this magnificent aircraft."

From what I can gather from the Discord server they do work together. The 787-8 is Kuro's though and the 787-9 is lead by Horizon but Kuro is assisting.

Good to know - thanks!

Between Horizon, Kuro, and WT, it looks like we will end up with the whole series -8 to -10 very well done, as I believe they can all share the WT system improvements if I am not mistaken.
