The 2 things I miss most in MSFS

Featured Replies

1. The old FSX/P3D camera system, where I could define any custom cameras (although the method was a bit burdensome, but I could manage it), and then I could SNAP between views. If only Asobo could remove these sickening MSFS camera transitions, it would be the best of both worlds (snap views as in FSX, with the ease of setup of MSFS).

2. A reliable way of checking the METAR at destination at my will. I usually check the destination WX both when entering the flightplan into the FMC/MCDU and at TOD. However, in MSFS, the destination airport won't appear in the list of available METARs until I'm at 100 km (yes, kilometers!) or less. And sometimes I get the dreaded "METAR NOT AVAILABLE". Well, FSX had this in the map view (when using the Jeppesen WX) and ActiveSky allowed you to check that from the application.

For #2, luckily the buses (Fenix, FBW/Headwind and I think the A310) have this information in the EFBs. But forget about that in the Maddog or the Boeings.

Best regards,

Trains?  From where? Are they in other flight simulators?

X plane 11 had them. Hopefully we’ll have moving trains (outside some payware airports) in FS2024.

I miss the Traffic of small single-engine aircraft on small VFR flying clubs.
I often miss the windsock in VFR to see the direction of the wind before landing on an uncontrolled aerodrome

The ability to save a flight and continue later at the same location on the airfield and the aircraft exactly as when you left it on the previous flight. Great for long distance flights of several legs.

My system specs: Intel [email protected] - 5.2 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080, 32GB  DDR4  RAMNoctua NH-D15 CPU Cooler,1TB Seagate SSD, 4TB Seagate HD, Windows 10, Asus 32 inch monitor, Saitek Yoke, Throttle Quadrant, Rudder Pedals and Trim Wheel     Sims: MSFS2020      Preferred Aircraft  Black Square Bonanza, and Baron, A2A Comanche, PMDG DC-6, Red Wing L1049

Pick two of these:

1) In-game documentation. Explain what each setting does, Flight notes with at least the reference speeds for each included aircraft.

2) Camera: apply a single FOV setting across ALL internal and external views.

3) Remember Registry, Airline etc. per individual aircraft

4) Flight planner: show airways, wind direction and filters per navaid type

Love MSFS, but the above omissions make me sigh "what were Asobo thinking" at least once every flight 😕

What I miss is alla fs2004

Was option to display (flight analysis) see your track etc.  Then you where able to reposition aircraft and continue from there

It was great to practice ILS approaches over and over and it actually see how much you were off on loc and glideslope

The lack of a tower view is a really weird one but I think I know why. Towers aren't properly defined in the sim. Why do I say this? Because from day one, the sim would omit towers from a lot of default airports. You'd see some generic buildings where the tower should be but in most cases, the airport would have to be handcrafted by Asobo or a 3PD for a tower to be present. i imagine it would be difficult to automatically assign a camera view to something that does not exist. Hopefully this oversight will be corrected for 2024.

It was a rather useful tool.

Currently, the best equivalent is FSI Panel.
So many options and comes in two versions, depending on what level of complexity you want to have in your approaches.

This reminds me of something... the last time I tried I don't think I could do it.  How do I print the nav log in MSFS?

Hardware: i7-8700k, GTX 1070-ti, 32GB ram, NVMe/SSD drives with lots of free space.
Software: latest Windows 10 Pro, P3Dv4.5+, FSX Steam, and lots of addons (100+ mostly Orbx stuff).
