What I have noticed since SU13

Recommended Posts

Same. But this has been happening to me for several months off and on. KLAX, EGLC, KPDX, KSEA etc etc Even happened in the Kodiak on approach to PANC just a few minutes. Froze for 2 seconds and then it was good.

I’ve noticed a slight performance increase for both FPS and reduction in stutters, horizon line is much better in most cases except for when it’s not (😅), getting way more crashes than before which is puzzling. Hardly had any pre su13.

What I am experiencing now again after SU13 is when I exit/quit out of the game it never fully closes.  It stays open for long periods.  I now just close it via the taskbar. It was happening before in the past but after a few SU updates it fixed itself.  Now it's back again.

I think some misunderstood my original post, I stated that I used to get these pauses, but none since SU13. I am assuming that this issue was fixed.

1. I had to go from 8x8 texture resolution down to 4x4.  The sim still looks amazing but performance with 8x8 on my system caused stuttering especially with third party scenery.

Do you mean Texture Supersampling?  Texture Res is Ultra, High, Med, Low.  Not 4x vs 8x.

In the last few miles into usually the most complex terminals in the most demanding planes, get one ultra-brief pause, nothing like 1-2 seconds, maybe 1/4 of the time, but it in no way affects landing control.  This is exactly as it was prior to SU13.

SU13 fixed the failure to retain last airports in the WM planner.  Outside of that I don't see any improvements or degradations with SU13.  I have very low expectations for any significant improvements with 2020 and await 2024 for hopefully some meaningful improvements in a few "core" features.
