October 24, 20232 yr Author Yeah, best to delete anything remotely conflicting with any GNS. PMS750 premium works flawlessly for most of us, though. It's probably the working title marketplace mods from in the sim marketplace. I have to do more tests on the vor to vor navigation, the old GNS430 works well here (fingers crossed). Missing the PMDG DC6 in MSFS 2024 (she's here, but...).

That is fine, I am just using an example of what (if any mods) that I know can work with the default 430. 7800+4090+64ram Just Flight RJ, 146 and F28, Piper Arrows ---A2A Aerostar and Comanche---Black Square Starship, Duke(s), TBM, Bonanza/BaronV2, KingAir---FSReborn FSR500---COWS Da42---FX P180, HJet & VJet---FlySimWare Chancellor and LearJet---FlightSimStudio EMB175 &P2006T---Fenix 320---PMDG DC6, 737(700+900), 777---C22J---Milviz Cessna 310 & Porter---SimWorksStudios Kodiak, PC12, Zenith & RV14---BigRadials Goose---IndiaFoxEcho MB3339+F35.
October 24, 20232 yr Second GPS/GNS simbrief flight after the "double GNS" uninstall, now it follows the GPS and the VLOC/ILS signals flawlessy, now it's possible to go everywhere without problems (finger crossed). At this moment I stopped to fly any FBW or Fenix airplane, the DC-6 rulez in bad weather and night flying. October 25, 20232 yr The DC-6 seems flying well (until the next FS20 update), my problem now is the PMDG official forum because their rule requires real name in the posts, first name and the last because "We do this in order to keep conversations personal and familiar.". It is nothing familiar requiring a full name in a public forum, I found my real name associated with the flight simulators because the Google indexing, so I stopped to use my real name in the PMDG forum and asked to delete my account and my messages. I didn't receive any reply from the PMDG management, so I decided to stop writing message in that forum. Missing the PMDG DC6 in MSFS 2024 (she's here, but...).
October 25, 20232 yr I was curious, so I just did a search for GPS-Gyropilot problems on the PMDG DC6 forum. Pages and pages of posts, starting July, 2021. That is over two years ago.. Two chances it will be fixed, slim and none.

I mean that the autopilot missed completely the SID, the STAR and the APPROACH, but it followed the route correctly. I don't know if it was my planning error or the usual gyropilot bug. At landing, there wasn't any indication of the distance from the ILS station, but the signal was there even without autopilot, so I was forced to a manual blind landing because the very bad weather and strong wind at more than 20kts this morning at EDFH, from LFML. October 25, 20232 yr Of course, how can I fly GPS/GNS wthout loading the SID and the STAR? I did the same things of the previous working and flawless flights, but this time something went wrong. Mathijs at the official forum is investigating, I trust him because it seems that there is more attention on the DC-6. Missing the PMDG DC6 in MSFS 2024 (she's here, but...).
October 25, 20232 yr Tried again where I failed today with a LFML/EDFH night flight (and bad weather), this time I loaded the flight plan directly from Simbrief to FS20 and it worked. Missing the PMDG DC6 in MSFS 2024 (she's here, but...).

You can fly GPS departure/approach without using SID/STARs. SID/STAR are optional and require certain navigation equipment which DC-6 never had. I've been flying IFR for over 20 years in real life and never used SID/STAR once. LOL My question to you was if GPS navigation work? If it does perhaps there was input error. Did you manually load SID/STAR? Did you activate approach at IAF? Are you using stock GPS or PMS? Life time flight sim enthusiast, current airplane owner 172P (past C182F). I know that the DC-6 is not exactly a SID-STAR airplane, but I use it for my pleasure and I like to plan my flight without SID/STAR, of course. In my previous failed flight there was an input error, probably. I like to load manually route and SID/STAR, but sometimes I'm using the FS20 planning loaded from Simbrief. I didn't activate the approach, I switch manually the GNS from GPS to VLOC, then I set the autopilot to Localizer and Approach, it works. I'm using the WT GNS430, no PMS because I don't like it.
