After a few months of "head down" work across all of our MSFS product lines, and this week we finally begin to push the updates out to you covering the full range of our MSFS titles!

Some are quite small (today's, for example!) and others will be significant feature additions, such as adding our tablet to the 737. We haven't pushed many new updates since mid-summer, but the drought is now over, and a series of updates, as well as a couple major product releases are pending- so the next few months will be fun!

Today it is the PMDG DC-6 Cloudmaster for MSFS getting a small, but important update that we hope will bring to a close a long-running effort to find a problem that vexed some users when attempting to link the gyro-pilot to a radial when flying with the Bendix radio option enabled.

This has been an ongoing investigation in part because the steps that were required to duplicate the problem remained largely unclear- but continued engagement with many users here in the forum, and through technical support finally helped to nail down a few key details that we think may have lead us to a solution.

It is also important to call out our peers over at Working Title- who likewise engaged with us to improve our understanding of a few key behaviors taking place "behind the panel" when we swap out the default GNS430 for the Bendix radios- and how that can possibly interfere with the functionality of the beam tracking and the gyropilot's ability to find and track the desired radial.

This is precisely the sort of cooperation with you, our customers, and with our developer peers that helps to improve everyone's experience in the community- so thank you to those who took the time to participate in many positive discussions, tests and fact finding investigations.

PMDG.com / Aerosoft.com Customers:
Launch the PMDG Operations Center, and pull the update through the product updates tab. When finished, you will be on v2.00.0050.

MS Marketplace Customers:
We have submitted the update to Marketplace, and it will wend its way through their approval process and appear as an update in the content system within MSFS.

Thank you for your patience as we worked to find this possible solution. The nice thing about having all of our products under a continual development cycle is that we are able to remain comitted to finding annoyances such as these- and working fixes into the update cycle.

Well, I think I will try and use the PMS750 popout instead of the 430 to see what's happening. Likely something conflicting. If this is the case then I'll try a flight from KSAN to KPDX with GPS.

Are the landing lights finally illuminating the ground yet? I think this is a wonderful plane but it's kinda useless at night trying to taxi around dark airports for me.

the old generators produce the right amount of energy when close to 1400/1500rpm, and "fiat lux!". In this way there is light enough when taxiing.

Hoping this new patch will make the DC-6 flying again with a working autopilot.

There is an Autopilot problem on the Camair 480 Twin Navion, where you can choose your GPS via a dashboard switch.

Choose between GNS 530, or the PMS750, or the TDI - turns out that the GNS 530 wouldn't work if both the PMS750 and TDI were loaded in the Community folder.

Needed to take one of them out to get the AP to work with the 530.

I tried a vor to vor flight, it's following the signal, but it's waving. Also it's waving like crazy in a ils landing. I'll try with a gps flight, but the problems don't seem to be solved.

I did not experience that. It captured everything and stayed on course. No oscillating for me.

Rather enjoyed it!

I tried again a vor to vor flight, it's waving. I was in real weather and there was a strong wind, need more testing.

I imagine that it still doesn't work reliably using the gyropilot with the GPS

I'm having problems with the last Nvidia driver too, and the DC-6 doesn't fly well, I didn't try with a full GPS flight and the infamous GNS430.

I put in a ticket, as have many others on the G 430 and Gyropilot well over a year ago. Still not fixed, and most likely will never be fixed.

I'm not so happy to be just one of the few with you, but it's unbelievable for me to see that for other users the DC-6 is working flawlessy.

From what I have read, many don't use the 430, they use the bendix radios.

I have the same problem with the bendix radios, the screenshots above were taken while flying vor to vor just using the radios, not GTN 430.
