I didn't activate the approach, I switch manually the GNS from GPS to VLOC, then I set the autopilot to Localizer and Approach, it works. I'm using the WT GNS430, no PMS because I don't like it. Usually it is working this way, i allways load my plans like this and seeing no problems doeing like this. I mostly do my flightplans with LNM and save the plan to MSFS, this is working just well. Today i am goeing for another DC-6 ride using the Gyropilot, so lets see how this goes..😊 cheers 😉 08.2024 new PC is online : ASUS ROG STRIX X670E-F GAMING WIFI Mainboard, AMD Ryzen™ 9 7950X3D Prozessor, G.Skill DIMM 64 GB DDR5-6000 (2x 32 GB) Dual-Kit, MSI GeForce RTX 4090 VENTUS 3X E 24G OC Grafikkarte, 2x WD Black SN850X NVMe SSD 4 TB - Drive C+D, WD Gold Enterprise Class 12 TB for storage HDD, Thermaltake Toughpower GF3 1000W PC - Power supply, Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 EVO CPU Aircooler with 7 Heatpipes, Design Meshify 2 White TG Clear Tint Tower-Case, 3x 4K monitors 2x32 Samsung 1x27 LG 3840x2160, Windows11 Prof. 23H2 - now Windows11 Prof. 25H2 Flightsimulator Hardware: Honeycomb Throttle Bravo, Logitech Extreme 3D Pro, Logitech Flight Joke System, XBox Controller, some Thrustmaster stuff, Winwing CDU Panels.
October 26, 20232 yr This was my last night flight from Simbrief and imported to FS20, in this case the SID/STAR were useful because the best compromise for the DC-6: direct take off and VNAV target at waypoint FH502 @5000ft, in this way following the STAR I had the possibility to slow down the DC-6 adeguately from FL190. For over 500mls flights I like to cruise to 18.000/20.000ft, the DC-6 can do it without problems, this was normal when it was operative in the 50/60s. The DC-6 can fly at about 25.000 and over, but I think that the pressurization system was working well at 18.000ft. Missing the PMDG DC6 in MSFS 2024 (she's here, but...).
October 26, 20232 yr I find using the 430 to be much more difficult than using the gtn750.I especially dislike the map which is so dark. On the 750 if you turn topo on, the map looks like the map in the G1000.

I can tolerate just the GNS430 on the old DC-6 and I'm using it without any problem, it is difficult to use it correctly but it's more challenging. Have you tried other flights on your DC-6 or is it definitely on the blocks? Missing the PMDG DC6 in MSFS 2024 (she's here, but...).

Have you tried other flights on your DC-6 or is it definitely on the blocks? I am flying it now. I am using the PMS 750, and I notice that some of the controls like direct to, have to be pressed on the 430. Took me awhile to figure that out. So far so good. Just landed. Successful flight. Using the 750 GTN, everything worked, Gyropilot tracked the course, and approach captured the glide slope.. Will be flying the DC6 again tomorrow. 😀 Edited October 26, 20232 yr by Bobsk8
October 27, 20232 yr Well I had one flight where everything worked yesterday. Against my better judgement I decided to try one more flight this morning from KMEM to KSTL. Set everything up, took off, and the pile of word not allowed Gyropilot refused again to track the GPS course line. I tried the 430 and the 750. I could get the course line centered by using direct to, and then it would just drift off center, because the GP was not locking to it at all. This DC6 is a total waste of time, period. Never Again!!!!

The WT guys told me: Hi Gents, Third flight with the DC6 after implementing the above: x3 LOC/GS capture without glitches. Gyropilot followed GPS navigation flawlessly, SID & STAR included.
