X-Plane as a tool for flight training.

came across a website that uses X-Plane 12 for real world flight training.

It also uses MSFS

It's basically how to setup and use your sim of choice.

Not quite sure the purpose of it, they teach you how to fly in a sim? Pretty strange.

Maybe you can make a post about that in the MSFS forums. I thought it was a useful resource for X Plane flight simmers. 🤷‍♂️

Can the respective instructors also explain how to setup (or in this case circumvent) this beahviour?

I've no idea, why don't you ask them? I am not an instructor.

If you don't like it, or refuse to notice and acknowledge what it does have to offer, then please, feel free to see yourself out of this discussion.

What? See myself out of this discussion? Because I stated that I wouldn't pay for freely available information? Why am I not surprised by your response after seeing many of your other posts on here.

If you don't want users to post on your topic, don't create a post. It is really that simply. But you cannot filter out who responds to your topic once created. Or alternatively you can start your own site where you can block users that you disagree with.

I simply stated, if people are willing to pay for the things I've been pointing out, good for them. But I would let them know that much of this information can easily be found elsewhere for 100% free. Sorry if you don't like that.

To get around that problem any serius certified instructor will tell you that it is absolutely forbidden to take off in a 150 kts crosswind.. independently of the simulator used. 🙃
If the instructor (who I pay real money, I remind you) doesn't teach me this fundamental rule of real flying what would be the point of taking a "simulation course" with a certified instructor? 😕

Yes.

No.  Because you said this.  When there is so much more to the course.

I don't understand why we need a CFI to tell us how to tweak graphics settings.

I don't know.  But I'm not here to impress you.  How you feel about my posts is something you have to deal with.  In turn, why am I not surprised that 3 of you decided to jump in here and cause problems?  Ask yourself.  Why am I the last X-Plane Commercial Member that's still here?

Thanks for the tip.  But I posted that to show people what was out there.  If a discussion was to be had, I always find it far more comfortable when that discussion is an informed discussion.

Very true.  But I can respond.  And in the very rare case, my response offends.

Already done.  14 years ago.  Only blocked 1 person.  Everyone else, we all get along perfectly fine.  I also run 2 discord groups, 2 of my own Facebook groups, and I was invited to moderate 2 other X-Plane themed Facebook groups.  Again.  Excellent camaraderie in all of them.  Safe to say, I'm not the problem.

Not true.  See my first quote in this post.  Please don't try to twist it into something it isn't.

Because they all ran off to the other sim?

PS I wish they hadn't because I use XP12 and wish it had more devs.

It's not a discussion when you tell people not to discuss it!

He's not, he's offering his opinion, of which you don't like, so you bite back and tell him to exit the discussion.

Expressing a different opinion to one that you hold is causing problems? ok 😕

Did they?  That's news to me.  As far as I know, only inibuilds "ran off" to the other sim.  And that was because of a nice big bag full of cash that Asobo was dangling in front of them.  Who else went?

I don't mind people discussing it.  Like I said, an informed, productive discussion.  Something some people are incapable of.  Maybe I give some people too much credit.

"I don't understand why we need a CFI to tell us how to tweak graphics settings."

That's not an opinion.  I think you need to understand the definition of an opinion.

Is that what it is?  👍

Ok.  My opinion is that the course is extremely valuable, and can help someone get familiar with aircraft procedures.  If you disagree, cool.  Can we move on, now?

Jump in here and cause problem? I was already here;🙂 Please hold a mirror to yourself and you'll find the issue. You can't have a normal discussion. You have a tendency to turn everything into an argument.

I honestly don't care why. How many times are you going to ask this very question? You post about these lessons, but you don't want others expressing opinions about it that differs from yours. Make it make sense, please!!! In your eyes, I should see myself out of this discussion because I said I wouldn't pay for something that is freely available. How pathetic is that response.

Anyway, I'm done posting on this topic.  Enjoy the rest of your day @GoranM
