They are 4K textures so there may be some impact of FPS if you have an older system or not a lot of GPU VRAM to spare. Also depends on you autogen building density setting too. The default textures are far below 4K resolution, that's for sure. There probably like 512x512 or something.

I used (and still use) this one: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/12801/ (Sign-up required to download tool). Follow settings as per image above, except: Select the folder location that contains the textures you wish to reduce. Under 'Profiles' dropdown, choose 'Minimum (safe). Uncheck 'Delete unnecessary files'. Check 'Resize down (reduces texture dividing by 2 width and height)' and select desired texture size in dropdown list. (For BuildingsHD, I selected 'If > 1024'). Under the 'More / Extras' tab, uncheck 'Make backup'. Run the whole procedure again if you want to reduce texture sizes from >= 4096 x 4096 to 1024 x 1024. Important! Make a manual copy of the folder containing the textures before running the app in case you want to revert. November 9, 20232 yr Just an FYI from my experiences with Orbx HD buildings with a 1070 Ti 8 GB raid card and an AMD 2700x which I ran for some years prior to updating to a Ryzen 5800x and 3080 Ti 12 GB. I've found P3D typically has no problem with displaying high resolution autogen buildings, I've always totally maxed out my Autogen buildings including within the prepar3D.cfg and have had no issue with P3D resource usage. I imagine it's due to retangular/square sided box type shapes with textures are relatively simple to draw and shadow. What does tend to choke P3D is running a too high an autogen draw radius as well as 3D objects, vegetation shadows and AA. Too high an autogen radius affects both CPU and GPU usage. 3D objects are mostly CPU, however there can be both CPU and GPU resources to spare and yet the fps will not come up - about all that can be done in these sort of situations is to reduce the Scenery Complexity or try and work out what object in the area is resulting in the issue. Vegetation Shadows are high consumers of GPU, mostly due to odd and intricate shapes and there being many of them. Anti-Aliasing is also a big consumer of GPU. Traffic is a fairly large consumer of CPU. Idealy best to monitor GPU use as GPU will generally be the major resource consumed where it can be easily seen via monitoriting tools. For CPU - everything will chip away at CPU use a little, some more so than others. I combat such issues in different senarios and their resource requirements via customised settings selectable from within P3D like in the pic below and choose an alternate confg should the need arrise, which doesn't happen so much now that I've a quite nice rig. November 10, 20232 yr If I understood you correctly, Rogen, in case you have GPU power to spare (in my case, a 3060Ti driving a single 1080p monitor at 34 FPS), there wouldn't be any issue running Buildings HD in their original 4K resolution? Best regards,Luis Hernández Main rig: self built, AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D (with SMT off and CO -50 mV), 2x16 GB DDR4-3200 RAM, Nvidia RTX 5060Ti 16GB, 256 GB M.2 SSD (OS+apps) + 2x1 TB SATA III SSD (sims) + 1 TB 7200 rpm HDD (storage), ID-Cooling SE-224-XTS air cooler, Viewsonic VX2458-MHD 1920x1080@120-144 Hz (G-sync compatible), Windows 11. Hi Luis, I can only comment on my previous use of a 1070Ti card and it had no issue (now having a 3080Ti is even better). Here's a couple of pics, taken with my 1070Ti and 2700x Ryzen flying smoothly at a 30 fps vsync. HD buildings @ 4k with the P3D building autogen settings maxed including the use of AUTOGEN_BATCH_LOD=1 Of course individual results may vary.
