I'll look into that, noting I need to be mindful that I don't clutter up the UI by doing so.

Speaking of keeping the UI as clear as possible, I'm thinking of making an Auto LOD spin off of this app where you set a target FPS band and upper and lower LOD limits and it adjusts your LODs, and possibly even cloud quality if I can ever work out how to detect GPU load without it killing app performance, automatically to keep you in the middle of that FPS band. This would greatly simplify the UI and make it much less daunting for less tech-savvy users. The hard bit is not having it continuously hunt for the right LODs/cloud quality, but my recent experience implementing LOD Step Max, and the tolerance buffering associated with cruise LOD update and cloud quality reduction has me hopeful this will work. Stay tuned!

Unfortunately I'm getting a similar issue after installing Ver 3.7, even after trying the same method that worked for 3.6 (mobiflight folders)

This time I'm getting the following error message, "Incompatible MSFS Version = Sim Values Read Only".

Could this be a result of installing the latest MSFS update today?

I updated to the latest MSFS a few hours ago and nothing changed memory map wise. Mine's worked fine for a couple of flights now. Maybe try restarting MSFS, the app and a full system reboot if that doesn't fix it.

Failing that, can you message me your log file so I can take a look. Thanks.

Have tried rebooting, reinstalling, deleted both mobiflight folders, and cleared out my registry...same error message.  Sent the log....thanks!

Attempting to catch up here.  Am I on the right track here?  Most frequent flying is the Hjet at FL's 310 and above at 390 KIAS, with 200 kt initial approach common at <10,000.  Will also need to build a profile for Beech Baron 58 and Cessna 310, with normal max ceiling of 6,000 to 18,000.  Still attemting to absorb what is needed without going into experimental mode with my flying hours.

How's this for a simple UI concept? 😁

Basically, you would set your LODs in MSFS to what you normally had them before this app. When it runs, it will take your target FPS and raise or lower LODs to get you in the ballpark of that target. It would reduce LODs no more than 50% and increase them no more than 100%, so if your starting LOD was 100, then 50 is the minimum and 200 is the maximum, essentially meaning if you are on the high LOD preset (100) then the app will only go as low as medium LOD preset (50) and as high as ultra LOD preset (200), depending on conditions. Clouds are TBA until I've worked out how to measure GPU load as there is no point reducing/increasing them if MSFS is currently CPU bound.

Hi, it looks good. Are you planning to have both versions available? I would still like the option of the detailed UI in 0.3.7 for some flights.

Imho it would be better to have one version than two .

Myself I do not use the FPS or Cloud part of the app.

If you are able to come up with an automated version that would be welcome. Just a minimum LOD and maximum LOD where the app the LOD values changes on how fast the tiles are being loaded/unloaded. The max LOD value will only be reached if achievable ..

Surely with the FPS/Cloud part so others who use this can benefit from this too.

Btw : if FPS LOD is used icw FPS Clouds which one drops the value first wheh FPS is going down ?

Thavks for your great work.

That's strange, usually takes a lot to be flagged...

Anyway thanks for this brilliant addon. And by the way - what does the fps adaption actually do? In other words, how does the app work when this option is ticked off?

FPS adaption reduces your LODs, and clouds if enabled, by a specified amount if MSFS falls below an FPS you consider acceptable with the aim to restore acceptable performance, even if it costs you some graphical detail.
