Already have done (with the F18) and that's what leads me to guess not, but doesnt answer the question (I can't be definitive as I zero time in an F18 irl just a limited understanding of supersonic aerodynamics HND Aero Eng)

Sounds like you actually know the answer, so pray tell

So you wonder if MSFS handles supersonic aerodynamic? There are several supersonic airplanes brought to MSFS by respected developers. I'm not a developer myself but here an official SDK document so dig in

Sorry you are misreading my question,Of course many supersonic aircraft have been available in flight sims including MSFS that is sort of obvious.

In previous flight sims little or no attention is paid to the differences between subsonic and transonic/supersonic aerodynamics (the big one being subsonic aerodynamics' treating of the atmosphere as an incompressible fluid which it isnt)

Thanks for the Link I shall have a read.

This is out now apparently.  $39.99.

Can it be purchased other than on the Marketplace in-sim?  Thanks.

Marketplace only at the moment Jack.

A small article here...

Thanks.  I never use that to buy anything.  If it can't be purchased from them directly then it's a hard pass.  Sorry, I detest the "Marketplace."  Nothing but hassles with it.

I understand.  I have had problems here and there, but apart from slow download speeds sometimes, it has been fine lately.

The article I linked above in my edited post mentions it shows 'dump and burn' in the pictures, but I can't see it.  Looks like just normal afterburner to me.

I am interested in the 111 as I used to watch them and Lakenheath and Upper Heyford.  The 'dump and burn' was the cause of a 'UFO' sighting in the UK .
Apparently it was a 111 returning to Upper Heyford and dumping fuel.  The image on film camera showed what looked like a meteor burning up in the atmosphere, except it changed course abruptly, confusing everyone and leading to the 'scare'.

I was at Heyford for three years and saw them dump and burn many times, it's a beautiful sight.  I can see how someone would think it's a UFO or some such nonsense.

I've seen some pretty cool things some I can't even discuss.

But one was a favorite of mine.  One time we had a plane that the speed brake switch on the throttles was shorting out so it caused the speed brake to intermittently deploy and retract in all phases of flight.  No one could figure it out, it wasn't my "system" so I couldn't work it.  Anyway, one night as we're listening to the pilots while we sat in the maintenance truck we got an IFE (in-flight emergency).  The pilots were on approach and the speed brake was deploying and retracting all on its own.  When they landed it deployed, which with the 111 is straight down, 90 degrees vertical and since the plane is far heavier than the speed brake and the runway was more solid that it the speed brake was ground down to the level of the runway.  It also forced the closure and repair of the runway.  You should have seen all the sparks, it looked awesome.

Of course, the F-111 has that massive speed brake underneath doesn't it.  That must have been a sight.

"I've seen some pretty cool things some I can't even discuss."  Sure, likewise.  I have been to Alconbury many times and was amazed, and I was around Woodbridge / Bentwaters at the time of the Rendlesham Forest incident.
Spoiler alert:  It wasn't a UFO at all.  Still... many people did well selling books about it!

Yeah, my brother was at Bentwaters working com systems on the A-10.  I loved their shoulder patches, it said "Go Ugly Early," I always thought that was wicked cool.

Physics, quantum physics, and astrophysics is one of my hobbies and in my opinion there are no UFO's.  Nothing can travel faster than light.  So they'd have to warp space like the Alcubierre drive or have lifespans in the millions of year to travel here at sub-light speed.  It's ludicrous.  And so far the Fermi Paradox is still in play.

The pilots told me that when they deployed the speedbrake in flight it was almost like hitting a brick wall it was so large and just pounded the air to slow it down.  I never got a ride in one although they did give rides but they only went to the **** boys as well called them.

The developers will be releasing a weapons patch, as well as a version through other vendors, by mid-late January. This timeframe will also see a comprehensive update to their MiG-21 Fishbed with new visuals, new sounds, new HUD, new liveries, and more.

Do you know how they are going to do that? since microsoft doesnt allow weapons would it be external site download or something?

Ok, so their website still only shows the F-111 for FSX which I had long ago.  No new news on the MSFS version.  Their website looks ancient.  How in the world does one contact these people?  I used the website email address from their old site and nothing.

I don't use Discord.  Not on Facebook.  Not on any social media.  Is this Marketplace only?  If so it's a shame as I literally have my card out right now to buy this.

Out of all the airports/scenery/aircraft I have ever bought since the early days of flight sim this has to be the most frustrating.  No communication from them except Avsim people here.

I'm sorry to complain guys but is this even a company?  Or just one lone guy on a PC in some country selling through the Marketplace only?

Jack Sawyer

It will be elsewhere, as in the post two above...the Mig21 came out Mp first, then simmarket then orbx, this time I will wait for Orbx!

Saw the f111 dump and burn trick at an Upper Heyford airshow, and now fly gliders within sight of UH most weekends so a definite purchase, but I can wait...

...

Thanks.  Those three years I was stationed at Heyford were the happiest in my life.  I miss it a lot.
