Dumb question re Marketplace

Featured Replies

This may or may not be a dumb question, but there doesn't seem to be any sort of "basket" option when buying stuff from the Marketplace. I seem to have to buy stuff one item at a time. Is this just how it works or am I being stoopid? It's sale time there and I grabbed a bunch of things but I had to go through the whole payment thing for each one. Not a big deal, but just seems a bit odd.

Ryzen 9 7900X, Corsair H150 AIO cooler, 64 Gb DDR5, Asus X670E Hero m/b, 3090ti, 13Tb NVMe, 8Tb SSD, 16Tb HD, 55" Philips 4k HDR monitor, EVGA 1600w ps, all in Corsair 7000D airflow case. Sims in use - 2020, 2024, XP-12 and -11, FSX/SE, P3Dv4.5 and v5.4. DCS and AFS2 installed but rarely used

No, its not you who is stupid. Its actually a great way to prevent people spending all of their money in the marketplace but I doubt that was the intention.

I think it was last year's big sale and there were like 10 things I wanted to purchase. I started buying away, $4.99 here, $3.99 there, on to the next one and next one. Eventually by the 4th or 5th item I got a decline as my bank flagged all the numerous back to back transactions as fraud. What a pain, they really do need a basket or cart system.

Is it done yet? When will it be released? Will it be freeware or payware? How much will it cost? Any updates on the progress? Will it work for Xbox? Can I be a beta tester? How's the performance in VR?

Thanks for the reply, glad it's not just me! Actually, it's the endless amounts of rubbish they sell there that stops me spending all my money (livery packs, "excursions" etc). Apart from the exclusive stuff, like Carenado, and the sales (which can be pretty impressive) I try and avoid buying there.

Yep, I think that happened to me once. Thanks for replying

I noticed this today when I was compiling my wish list of juicy items  I had assumed that the wish list would enable me to purchase all of them at the same time, but I guess not.

Last night, I literally bought 12 aiports on there.  There definitely isn''t a basket!! ... which is crazy really.

The good thing was, the downloads were flying through at 200Mbps!  It was like I was in a parallel universe! 😄

There are some Orbx fields up for £1.69 that I grabbed (PNW), and some other super cheap GA airfields in New England (Twitchell and another small one in Connecticut, that I've forgotten already).

Yeah, I was surprised to see some of the Orbx stuff on there, and even cheaper than on Orbx's own site. Grabbed a couple that I wouldn't bother with even at Orbx's sale prices. I also use their sales as a way to grab aircraft I wouldn't otherwise bother with. Got a nice looking F-14 "super tomcat" for under a tenner just because I liked the look of a couple of the liveries.

My biggest pet peeve with the marketplace is the receipt they give you never reference what you purchased. It gives a number that even when you try to lookup it won't tell you exactly what you brought. How hard can it be to generate a simple receipt describing what you brought with price attached.

The easiest way around this is to use the wishlist (click the heart icon).  Then you have a list of things you may or may not want to buy.  Also a great way to keep an eye out for things you want on sale without needing to browse the entire sale list.
