Caribbean - MTCA to MKJS (Ref: Ryan's Post)...

Recommended Posts

After seeing the 7 (Gaya) airports listed in Ryan's Caribbean Post, first I looked for the Caribbean (XVI) Update on my Xbox system. It showed up as an optional update of "12GB"...and I thought it would take several hours for installation. However, as a pleasant surprise, it took only about 15 minutes...so, I went on to test 2 of the airports (see the full list of 7 in Ryan's post).

I've shown, below, a lift-off from (MTCA) Antoine-Simon Airport, over and across the mountains (first 10 pictures), and a touchdown into (MKJS) Sangster International Airport (rest 8 pictures). MKJS has an ILS Rwy of 10,000 ft length, if you wish to fly in with a jetliner...

I'm pleased with what I see on my Xbox (scenery for the airports themselves and the vicinities), irrespective of the water-mask deficiency and discussion on-going...And to think that this is all default MSFS (could not have imagined the same on my previous SIMs...🙂...) ...

Your experience, on the PC, might even be better.

Hope you enjoy this collection of images. Thanks for viewing...!

Folks: Many thanks for the comments...🙂...!

The world of Caribbean has finally arrived in the SIM...especially like the quaint looking (smaller) airports...very nice and it is all freeware ...

Is it just me, or do the approach lights for runway 07 at MKJS Sangster International look a bit "wonky"? I noticed this when I landed there the other day, and I can just see evidence of it in your 14th screenshot above.

Great stuff, P!

That "three suns" approach shot (4th from last) is either spectacularly well planned or spectacularly lucky! Either way, it's a beaut.

Thanks, Bernd. I was thinking of my FS9 days of roaming around here, as John also said above, trying to make sense of the green patches on a vast carpet of blue…🙂…These airports together also add to the charm…

Hello Chris: I was not frankly paying too much attention to the lights on that shot #14, while mostly absorbed in the beauty of my peripheral vision of the mountain side buildings and that cruise ship…🙂…but you can see on the ILS gauge that I’d managed to get this DHC2 properly aligned with the LOC/GS needles…so, glide path view is surely correct…need to check again for the Runway 07 lights… was in fact thinking of the 736 (one of your favorite a/c too I presume…🙂…) to try it again sometime, haven’t got to it…let’s see…

Appreciated the comment, Andy. I wish I could maintain modesty and decorum…🙂…to say it was pure luck, but I knew the evening Sun was behind me, so, it was just a matter of aligning the Sun against the DHC2’s wing and its other 2 lights…🙂… I like this a/c a lot…you can tell…

Cheers…!
