before tjosFrom my extensive testing, and feedback from others trying out the test builds to date, the new and updated features are working quite well and reliably, so I am getting close to putting out a release candidate.

I am late into my second two-hour plus flight today with test v11 and all has gone well (perfect).  Flying with addon airports, Hjet, IFR.  First TO from Kansas CIty with both airport and cityscape scenery addons, into Baltimore with greatly equal addon characteristics.

That said, if I Alt-tab out of MSFS, perform some non-sim related tasks, Alt-tab back in, insure v11 is on top and FPS has adjusted, my FR is lower. Usually very close to my target.  ex. seeing 88-90 fps before, 58-60 after.  Again AutoFPS clearly on top.  Otherwise the FR is half of that.  Sim still very smooth.  But...  FR was 88-90.  I believe this occurred with both flights.

Thanks for the detailed description of the issue, which I will look into. I usually use the same Auto TLOD automation method and GPU load triggered cloud deactivation method as you do and I don't have that issue, which may make it a bit harder to find. It would be very helpful if you could send me the log file of a flight where it occurs so I can see what's happening. Thanks.

AutoFPS just echoes the FPS that MSFS is telling it that it is getting, so the the only thing I can think of is that your TLOD automatically is higher in the screenshot you posted than it was before. I notice Mtns+ is activated in this screen shot, allowing your TLOD to go up to 800. Was it 800 in the earlier situation? A screenshot of that earlier situation would be helpful. Also if you can post the log file of that flight. Thanks.

Still during the flight I fully closed the app and the restarted.  Here is what is returned by the app.

Your TLOD Min Extra is still seeking in that screen shot. You need to wait until it has finished and your TLOD has adjusted up/down to the current conditions before you can make a valid comparison.

Oh and by the way, your OLOD settings have the same OLOD at base and at top, so the OLOD values will never actually change. Are you aware of that?

Regarding exactly when you are going into the MSFS settings and changing it back to medium, are you still in your flight with AutoFPS running when you do so? If you are doing it then, the cloud setting will not permanently stick because AutoFPS is managing it at that time and will restore what it thinks is your default cloud quality setting based on when it started, not what you changed it to mid-flight. This could possibly be why you are experiencing this issue.

The upshot of this is that if you want to change your default settings with AutoFPS running you need to be in the main menu of MSFS and NOT in a flight. If you are in a flight, you need to exit the AutoFPS app completely, make the MSFS setting change then restart AutoFPS.

Also, I know this sounds obvious but it is easy to not do correctly, when changing your MSFS settings for VR make sure you are looking at VR settings (like your screenshot) and that you are not inadvertently making changes to PC mode  view that it defaults to if you change settings while in PC mode.

From the status line, as circled in red. The new TLOD Min Extra functionality takes around 1 minute from AutoFPS detecting you are in a flight for the seek process to complete. Then, if you started AutoFPS, in the air it will take another minute or so until it settles on the right TLOD / FPS balance.

In short, just wait a couple of minutes until everything has sought and automatically adjusted before worrying about FPS readings.
