@Reset XPDR the clouds never reduce in quality for me even though i have decrease cloud quality ticked in expert options. Even if i select cloud quality “low” in the ingame settings the cloud quality still says “ultra” in the app.

Sounds like a corrupt config file. I recommend you download the latest test version here, install with the Clean Install option checked, then tell me if that fixes it for you.

That fixed it with the app changing from ultra to high clouds when needed.  Still did notice if i switch to low volumetric clouds in the game settings the app still shows ultra clouds (not a big issue just an FYI).

When the app is running you should not change TLOD, OLOD or clouds yourself as it tries to restore them to what they were set to when it first detected them. Only one entity, either the app or you, should be controlling these settings, per the readme FAQ:

Updated to RC3 and problem solved: VRAM appears in the status line and thus GPU usage information is working.

Thanks a lot for changing your excellent program to work also with few poor-guys-systems like mine with only 3 GB VRAM. About 10 years ago this was a far sufficient value ...

As you are using non-expert mode with the VFR profile, the TLOD Max it choses is as follows:

TLOD Maximum - VFR 300% of your current MSFS TLOD setting, IFR 200%

which means your default MSFS TLOD without this app running must be set to 200 for VR. TLOD 600 is fine if your system has the performance headroom to get there, which yours looks like it did. Unless this was causing issues for you, it all looks fine to me.

I think we are good to go with 0.4.4.2 as issues seem to have trickled to a stop.

One last change you will see in the release version, that can't really be tested by users, is enforced mandatory app updates if required to maintain MSFS compatibility. eg. when MSFS 2024 1.2.8.0 came out it broke compatibility with 0.4.4.0, so I came out with 0.4.4.1 to fix it, however it wasn't mandatory then so I kept getting support questions on why the compat test kept failing with the previous version.

Now, if that happens again, the new mandatory compatibility update I make will have an 'm' appended to the URL, which means if you are running any earlier app version you will get the following message pop up:

If you do not update the app, the app will auto exit and you will keep getting this message until you do update. Note, mandatory updates will only occur if they are absolutely required to maintain compatibility or fix a major bug affecting most users, otherwise updates will be non-mandatory.

MSFS_AutoFPS v0.4.4.2 has now been formally released, which you can download and install from here. My thanks go out to all who participated in the testing phase and provided valuable feedback that shaped the final version.

Summary of changes are:

• Enhanced the app's resilience when interacting with MSFS, including a more robust one-off compatibility test and enforced mandatory app updates if required to maintain MSFS compatibility.
• Auto TLOD limiting when running the GPU-Z companion app and an impending VRAM overflow is detected.
• Added clean install and close app to system tray installation options.
• Added ResetXPDR to the app title to help differentiate it from derivative AutoFPS apps with a similar app name.

Perhaps you should acquire some direct experience yourself.  It is very simple to install and use, and just as simple to eliminate.  So why fret?

This app is an absolutely huge development for both MSFS 2020 and 2024.  Perhaps check out the profiles of the developer and so many of the testers and testimonial members here. It is a strong and experienced "choir" for lack of serous flight simulation enthusiasts  for another description.  A Who's Who of the activity.  Few refer to this as a game. We embrace developments like this that send the simulation to new realism.
