March 23, 20251 yr I sim with MSFS 2020 in IFR at 1440p with 5800x3d and 3080Ti with 32gb. I have it currently at Auto Target FPS, FPS Sensitivity and TLOD min/max 90/150. Also I have MSFS ground vehicles and carts setting very low, almost zero. The FPS performance is generally great, no issues. Except at about 1000ft and there is often a slight glitch when airport loads. Is there any suggestions to fix that with AutoFPS setting? http://youtube.com/c/Greazer

Normally, Alt TLOD Base is set to 1000 ft and will be the last point where AutoFPS would be making any changes in MSFS, but even then the steps would be small and not much different to the descent leading up to that point, so that shouldn't cause any sudden airport loading issue at that point. To be sure, if your Alt TLOD Base is set to 1000 ft, try setting it higher like 1500 or 2000 ft and see if that improves it. If the glitch still happens at 1000 ft, it is likely a MSFS 2020-ism and not AutoFPS as such. 9800X3D | 4090 | 64GB | 2+1TB NVME | 2TB SSD | 2TB HDD | 85/50/43” TVs | Quest 3 | DOF H3 Motion Rig | Buttkicker | T.16000M Flight Kit MSFS @ 4K Ultra DLSS Performance FG 80 FPS | VR VDXR Godlike 80Hz SSW | MSFS VR DLSS Quality, Ultra Preset - Windows 11 Acer Nitro 5 | i5-11400H | RTX 3060 6 GB | 32GB DDR4 | 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz | 2 x 512 GB SSD | Windows 11

If the former, is it under any particular circumstances where the app is making changes? I'm fairly sure it doesn't have anything to do with AutoFPS. It seems completely random to me. During the last flight EHAM-EGGW in the Fenix, the sound issues were much less pronounced than the previous flight EIDW-EGLL for some reason. Which could indicate that it's related to performance - as I was flying into iniBuilds Heathrow with max FSHud traffic settings. Btw I'm using the nvidia audio driver, as I've got the audio running via the HDMI cable from my GPU to the receiver. Edited March 23, 20251 yr by Cpt_Piett 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5

My previous suggestion still applies, ie. make sure Alt TLOD Base is well above whatever altitude at which you are experiencing the glitch. You can also try running without AutoFPS but with MSFS set to the same settings it would have with AutoFPS running when crossing that altitude, to see whether AutoFPS is the culprit or not. 9800X3D | 4090 | 64GB | 2+1TB NVME | 2TB SSD | 2TB HDD | 85/50/43” TVs | Quest 3 | DOF H3 Motion Rig | Buttkicker | T.16000M Flight Kit MSFS @ 4K Ultra DLSS Performance FG 80 FPS | VR VDXR Godlike 80Hz SSW | MSFS VR DLSS Quality, Ultra Preset - Windows 11 Acer Nitro 5 | i5-11400H | RTX 3060 6 GB | 32GB DDR4 | 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz | 2 x 512 GB SSD | Windows 11
March 24, 20251 yr Not posting much in this discussion but I'm a big supporter and appreciate all dev versions (Thank you!), I just wanted to ask if my MSFS2024 graphic settings "Depth of Field" set to OFF could be because of MSFS Auto FPS ? This setting revert by itself to OFF regularly and I don't know if it's because of MSFS Auto FPS (no offense!) or... something I still trying to investigate 😉 Vincent B. I have noticed this a few times myself and thought it was just something I was doing but, given you and possibly others are noticing it too, it may be a side effect of one changing one of the other reduction settings. I will investigate further and, even if I can't find what specifically is causing it, at the very least I will save the original DoF setting on app startup and restore in on app exit. Edit: I have found the culprit - Displacement Mapping! Whenever this gets turned to off by the app it is also turning off DoF, which it obviously shouldn't. Edit2: This has been fixed in Test16 available here. It was a very strange one as the app was definitely only changing one byte in MSFS when changing the DispMap setting but for some obscure reason MSFS was also changing the DoF on/off setting 3 bytes up in memory to off all by itself. No other setting behaves like this! The app now resets the DoF on/off setting to what it originally was before changing DispMap. No other setting behaves like this! The app now resets the DoF on/off setting to what it originally was before changing DispMap. Upon further investigation, it appears the original code for the memory writing function in the app was converting what are treated in the app as binary settings to 4 byte memory writes, hence why DoF on off was getting turned off as it was within that 4 byte range. While what was put in Test16 works and is safe to use, it is not the optimal solution, so Test17 will be released shortly ensuring that all binary settings are written as a single byte. If any of this makes your eyes glaze over, all you need to know is that it will soon be fixed betterer. 😄 9800X3D | 4090 | 64GB | 2+1TB NVME | 2TB SSD | 2TB HDD | 85/50/43” TVs | Quest 3 | DOF H3 Motion Rig | Buttkicker | T.16000M Flight Kit MSFS @ 4K Ultra DLSS Performance FG 80 FPS | VR VDXR Godlike 80Hz SSW | MSFS VR DLSS Quality, Ultra Preset - Windows 11 Acer Nitro 5 | i5-11400H | RTX 3060 6 GB | 32GB DDR4 | 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz | 2 x 512 GB SSD | Windows 11

March 25, 20251 yr the current Test Version 4.4.8-test18 (older ones too I guess) doesn't recognize the usage of FrameGeneration in the new MSFS 2024 SU2 beta 1.4.7 any more. Neither using the current Nvidia 310.1.0.0 DLSS 4 version nor the AMD FSR3 version which came with the new beta. Always detects that the sim is running without FG. Scannnig the FPS without using FG works fine. Using the newest Nvidia FG Version 310.2.x per Nvidia Profile Inspector works in the sim, but AutoFPS doesn't detect the FG Mode neither. I'm using 50% lower target FPS in AutoFPS as a workaround now.

There are other improvements in 0.4.4.8 that are applicable to both MSFS versions, but yes the main improvements are for MSFS 2024. As such, other than helping me confirm that the app still functions correctly with MSFS 2020, you may as well just wait until the formal release to update for the other improvements. 9800X3D | 4090 | 64GB | 2+1TB NVME | 2TB SSD | 2TB HDD | 85/50/43” TVs | Quest 3 | DOF H3 Motion Rig | Buttkicker | T.16000M Flight Kit MSFS @ 4K Ultra DLSS Performance FG 80 FPS | VR VDXR Godlike 80Hz SSW | MSFS VR DLSS Quality, Ultra Preset - Windows 11 Acer Nitro 5 | i5-11400H | RTX 3060 6 GB | 32GB DDR4 | 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz | 2 x 512 GB SSD | Windows 11
