March 5, 20242 yr Author On my 4th flight in VR now and I haven’t experienced any motion sickness so far. A couple of times I’ve felt my balance sensation move when banking in turns though! And today I momentarily got confused for a second and tried to grab the VR side stick position instead of my actual one! But so far so good, really enjoying it and just getting used to flying under the hood rather than 2D multi screen. Im working on a few quality of life tweaks to get some app windows in VR and once that is done should be all set
March 5, 20242 yr Enjoy! There was no going back for me after trying VR. It's just on a different level for immersion. Ryzen 9800X3D, RTX 5090, 64GB, Win 11. MSFS2020. Moza, MFG, Fulcrum & Virpil controllers. Quest 3 for VR.

If I had a dollar for every time I've done that I could probably retire. Many instances of poking at an overhead switch and being momentarily confused why my finger went right through the button. It's even worse in non-flight sim games. I have a 3d treadmill which gets me a little closer to the ceiling. Playing first-person shooters on that thing, I lost count of how many times I've whacked the ceiling trying to shoot something above me. October 1, 20241 yr I got my Quest 3 and new GPU today (4070 Ti Super 16GB) added to my 7800x3d with 32ggb ddr5 ram. After a day of tinkering, this is the most comprehensive settings guide I found! When using the Link cable and the Meta app, I get a bit laggy vision but main downside are very washed out colours. Using Virtual Desktop, set to 120mb/s I get a latency of around 70ms (where Game latency is the higher one, around 20ms). When I turn off the overlay and just enjoy flying, it’s very decent. In-game settings are mostly High. Shouldn’t it be possible to get the best experience using the Link cable? I have the official cable that came with the Quest 2 (I bought that second hand last christmas). I’ve also tried running X-plane 12 through the same VD settings, but latency there is a lot higher, more then 100ms. Does not feels nice to look around. Cable with Meta app is even worse. Any advice for this? Thank you!
