Yes, they do work fine here, too. I just had the impression that 3rd party announcements already were available somewhere. I know that the "old" FSLabs ones do work as well, however, I removed all P3D applications and add0ons from my machine.

They work for some people not for others.
 

So they don’t 100% work yet sadly. 

 

Fenix devs confirmed they’ve had reports of the announcements not working and are looking into it.

As a matter of interest, for those who don't have working announcements - do the sound files in your community folder have a yellow lock over them?

Just checked. No yellow lock on the files, and I confirmed the files are good by playing them in an audio player. I've not heard any of the announcements in sim (and the volume slider is all the way up)

If you have the cockpit door closed, you need to have the “PA” rotary knob on the audio panel selected to hear announcements.

I'm just getting default crew sounds, none of my soundpacks work anymore. All the files in the "Announcements" folder have a yellow lock on them. Weird.

I did. But I've just discovered something interesting. I don't know if it's the fix or not, but when I turned the Fenix input down from 100 to 97 in the Windows volume mixer, the cabin announcements started playing. How's that for weird?

 

Anyone know how I can get anything Fenix related to show in the volume mixer, I mean specifically the gqlgateway? It just doesn't appear there at all ever so still getting no sounds. It's really disappointing as having seen streams and videos with these sounds I feel they really add to the immersion.

 

I opened a ticket but no luck.

The presence of a padlock icon on hard drives in the Windows 10 File Explorer indicates that the hard drive has been encrypted using BitLocker or Device Encryption programs.

Are you (specifically, your username on the computer) the owner of the files?

I had a similar issue once with a different program. It turned out that I was running MSFS as administrator, and the other program was not running as an administrator. I fixed it by not running MSFS as admin, and I've had no problems ever since.

I'm the owner of the files for usre. I just checked and noticed that its only the Community folder that has this yellow lock on the files. I haven't changed permisions or anything like that recently, one day it was fine, the next it was locked. Strange.

Apols for being lazy with my description by the way - The MSFS package folder is on my C drive but the game is on my D drive, for storage space reasons. I have my community folder as a shortcut onmy desktop and I usually just drop files in there.

It is only the Fenix announcements that have stopped working, everything else works fine. I'm wondering if the Fenix doesn't have permission to read those files? I'm just confused because they were working last week and now they're not.

I just received this from Fenix support so maybe it is a permissions bug.

Not the biggest of deals for me as the aircraft is still a joy to fly, just annoying when something stops working by itself.
