United Airlines flight from Austin to San Francisco.

Preflight: Arriving two hours late, the pilot announced to passengers over the intercom: "“I won’t fly the airplane,” she began, assuring passengers that the co-pilot would fly it instead.  She then asked passengers to vote on whether or not they could take off with her dressed as is or give her time to change into her “cute little uniform.” ...According to a passenger who gave a statement to Inside Edition, the female pilot talked about her divorce and political candidates.

Gone are the days if they really existed when pilots were steely eyed professional leaders who were the zenith of emotional stability in any situation.

I don't need to go sit with anyone in their job for a couple of days to never fly again because I am old enough to remember when airline travel and eating out in restaurants was a wonderful experience and I witnessed the gradual terrible demise of both. Now you couldn't pay me to eat out or get on a plane. We'll I suppose if it was an emergency or someone else was paying!😁

Yep, Poor manufacturing QA to meet ridiculous delivery schedules, poor pilot training with right seat privaleges on commercial airliners now @ 100hrs, everyone wanting to fly across the world for less than the price of a taxi fare. The industry is now just a race to the bottom.

Just like every other service or product in existence. The end is nigh! 🤣

Seems like the better off folks get materially the more arrogant selfish and crazier. I wonder if part of the problem is people have too much idle time.

Still is a wonderful experience, just costs a little more (actually if you add inflation it's actually about the same maybe even a little less) ... I remember the days when "First Class" on British Airways was about the same as you get in Business or Premium coach class now.  Heck business class from CA to Bahrain was only $1300 and that gives you a nice private cube will all the leg room you need and excellent service.

Now flying coach on SouthWest Airlines, yeah, that's not going to be a great experience because it's cheap and they pack you in like cattle, like fitting 8 people in an Uber Camry to share the cost.  So it depends on where you look and what you want, it's all there, the good, the bad, the ugly ... but it's always been there.

I don't know why so many seem to think everything has gotten worse, you folks need to get out more and stop watching TV, YouTube, etc.  The real world "overall" is no where near as bad as portraited by the media world.  Take the blinders off and go experience it, you'll be surprised ... if you look for bad, you'll get bad, but if your smart about looking there is plenty of good.

Finished the article then. Stop trying to get us to “nanny” you.  Start doing your own work. Sounds like a typical ops employee.
