April 15, 20242 yr If I were to be parked at KBUR v.2 Orbx (heavy graphics), and turn terrain LOD up to 300, like he does here at about 3 minutes into the video, then I would get stutters like he does. (On Youtube I entered "msfs strobing" into their search. I got no results with videos titled strobing. I don't know what it is). 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. April 15, 20242 yr I never used TLAA nor TAA until I installed the 2 new .dll files and set presets all to E. Because of performance loss with TLAA or TAA compared to DLSS. But after doing the above mod, there is not much performance difference using one or the other anti aliasing. Now it's maybe 60 with DLSS 57 with DLAA and 53 with TAA. Something small like that. Before the mod, there were enormous differences, about 33% loss instead of maybe 5%, and much more difference in stutters. That is no longer the case now. All the above with FG on. I reset resolution in msfs to 2510 x 1440p. msfs displayed on one screen only. FG on TAA fps 122 mouse parked main screen. FG on TAA fps 94 mouse parked on 2nd screen (set at 1440p). FG on TAA fps 94 mouse parked on 3rd screen (720p screen 16"). FG off TAA fps 94 regardless where the mouse is parked. Looking through the chain link fence ahead I see nothing unusual and nothing different in the fence in any of my tests regardless where mouse is parked. (I'm not sure what strobing is but I see nothing). Wow I don't know what the heck to make of this and thank you for doing that, there's a little hope! I was already at the gate at FSDT KORD so did a short video. Look at the ground and watch panning left to right and back, then the next pan is w/ my mouse parked on screen 2. The KSBA location is much easier to see this in and the video does show this but not as visible as it is on my screen. There is no real stuttering here but the video introduces stutter so try to ignore that during the pan it's more a case of focusing on oscillating fix-interval flicker of gamma or brightness with any motion or panning on ground surface. There is a more stuttering when the mouse is active on screen 2 as the frame rate drops. re Noel System: 9900X3D Noctua NH-D15 G2, MSI Pro 650-P WiFi, G.SKILL 64GB (2 x 32GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6000, WD NVMe 2Tb x 1, Sabrent NVMe 2Tb x 1, RTX 4090 FE, Corsair RM1000W PSU, Win11 Home, LG Ultra Curved Gsync Ultimate 3440x1440, Phanteks Enthoo Pro Case, TCA Boeing Edition Yoke & TQ, Cessna Trim Wheel, RTSS Framerate Limiter w/ Front Edge Sync. April 15, 20242 yr Noel's video shows up almost 5 feet wide in Youtube fullscreen F over my 2 monitors. I see nothing in the lighting brightness / contrast / gamma while panning that is changing. This has nothing to do with that it's all about the 2nd screen issue. I'm only talking about RTX40 series FG and the artifacts I tried to capture are only there when a 2nd screen is connected. And, strangely, if I move my mouse pointer to the 2nd screen and click on it the artifacts also disappear. I will try to do a better video a little later at the KSBA spot it's easier to see. Fortunately when taxiing where this strobing issue manifests I can mouse click on the 2nd screen and it goes away. It will drop rate about 20% but it's still not bad at all, so this option is what I've been doing. The 7800x3D has let me bump up native rate to 45 or more in the most demanding scenarios which is decent enough. In fact now at FSDT KORD sitting at the gate in FBW 320n and open rate is right at 60fps with FSLTL and GSX operating, which I lock at 45. April 16, 20242 yr For some reason, when I mouse click on a secondary screen I loose all control with my controllers. So I have to keep focus on the main screen. And I think you have a better working MSFS than I do have, because your hardware is better. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. April 16, 20242 yr 13 hours ago, Fielder said: My monitors are identical. And they are not extended. Instead they are joined together with Nvidia Surround which as you know is a menu item in Nvidia Control Panel. 2x 2560 x 1440 = 5120 x 1440. But Surround has a "bezel correction" feature that allows adding horizontal pixels behind the bezel which aren't seen because the bezel covers them. So my windows display is 5162 x 1440 (42 wide pixels hidden behind the bezel). This means that if the bezel is partially covering a round gauge, then the gauge will still look round, not oval. So, here's the thing: as soon as Surround is used to join 2 monitors, then MSFS will suddenly give as an option choice, twice the previous highest choice. And plus the correction if bezel correction is being used. Without surround, the maximum resolution that MSFS offers me is 2510 x 1440. As soon as I turn on Surround in NCP and set a bezel correction there, then MSFS now offers two maximums: 5120 x 1440 and 5162 x 1440. MSFS sees my two monitors as being one monitor, instead of 2 monitors with an extended desktop across them. When I choose full screen in MSFS, the cockpit view is almost five feet wide (two conventional 32" 16:9 monitors). Or instead I can choose windowed view and drag the MSFS window any width I want it to be. Like for instance 1 and 3/4 wide instead of double wide. And run other programs in the 1/4 wide remaining. This will increase fps in MSFS. 1-1/2 wide will increase fps further, and would then be about only 10% less than single wide. I'm testing MSFS right now using Nvidia surround plus one 16" touch panel. Windows sees these 3 mointors as two monitors. One double wide and one smaller single wide. To see if I can see anything like what Noel is reporting. I have not noticed it before. NV surround is based on 3:4 monitors and will always has a fisheye effect on 16:9 or wider monitors. The only thing you can do to make it less apparent is zooming in. 5950x3d 5.4-5.7 GHz - Asus ROG 870 Crosshair Apex - GSkill Neo 2x 24 Gb 6000 mhz / cas 26 - MSI RTX 5090 Gaming Trio OC - 1x SSD M2 6000 2TB - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 1Tb - Corsair 5400 case - Corsair 360 liquid cooling set - 3x 75’ TCL tv. 13600 6 cores @ 5.1 GHz / 8 cores @ 4.0 GHz (hypterthreading on) - Asus ROG Strix Gaming D - GSkill Trident 4x Gb 3200 MHz cas 15 - Asus TUF RTX 4080 16 Gb - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 2TB - 2x Sata 600 SSD 500 Mb - Corsair D4000 Airflow case - NXT Krajen Z63 AIO liquide cooling - FOV : 200 degrees My flightsim vids : https://www.youtube.com/user/fswidesim/videos?shelf_id=0&sort=dd&view=0
