Thanks for updating your settings guidance. I will definitely give this close scrutiny as you have proven to be a consistently sound and thorough expert on MSFS settings and system enhancements. Well done Captain!

And sorry that I didn’t structure the video a bit better. I’ve been planning to make such a video for a while, and yesterday was a perfect opportunity as I had to do a complete MSFS re-install. So I just went ahead and made the video without any planning. Despite the fact that it tends to be a bit rambling and incoherent, I hope it's useful 🙂

Interestingly, the views are about the same in the main forum as in the T&T subforum. I thought I'd post it here as well though, as it's not possible to comment in the T&T subforum.

Thanks, a really good ressource! One thing I always observe: somehow my sim seems smoother not using the ultra option for nVIDIA latency, just the reflex ingame. And: somehow my NCP and profile inspector settings do not really stick those days...

Don’t think I’ve tried reflex in game. As for the settings not sticking, that’s strange. Did it just start to happen? No apparent trigger? Don’t think I’ve had that before.

Yes, out of the blue. First I thought it was related to the NCP Update I got via MS Store (?), but then it happened again twice upon restart of my rig. Currently it sticks, cross fingers

Last night I re-configured my sim settings to pretty much replicate @Cpt_Piett as we have pretty similar specs except I run at 2k, not 4k. 

Flew a long haul overnight - ANA879 from Haneda to Sydney in the Horizon 787-9, only other add-ons were PSXT/real traffic, AutoFPS, FlyTampa YSSY and GSX.

Great FPS, traffic at HND as expected, GSX running smoothly, but...

Just landed at SYD to a deserted nuclear wasteland, with FPS cut by over half. No traffic, no terminals, no jetways, not even runway textures. Now the sim still has not loaded back to the main menu and I shut engines down about 20 or so minutes ago.

Not throwing shade at you Cap, I've always run the sim well under spec despite having what the kids call a beast of a PC, but after 9 or so hours of flight to land to absolutely nothing was a real kick in the guts. For such a great looking sim, this whole object limit issue (which I've never experienced before) should not be occurring, surely. Hopefully MS2024 improves on this. 

Will try a short haul later today and see what happens. 

*EDIT* - just had to CTRL-ALT-DELETE to shut down the sim.

I’ve never experienced anything like that before. I wish I had an idea what went wrong during the flight, but I’m at a loss. 

Have you been able to start the sim again and load a flight? Do you you any idea what setting (or combination of settings) that may have caused this?

Just a guess but I would say going from high-ultra settings to full-on ultra has possibly played a part. In my limited research on the subject of object limits I have read that GSX and its associated assets can have quite the effect on those limits.

Didn't really think it could wipe out an entire international airport and pretty much everything else that goes with it! 😄

Yeah that's the weird bit. I use AutoFPS to manage TLOD and OLOD when arriving at major hubs, which helps keep the load on the CPU down. 

Let me know how it goes - and if there's still an issue when loading up the sim again.

I loaded up the sim again - all premium deluxe airports, aircraft, and all addon aiports and aircraft were missing. Oh no I thought...

Rebooted PC, restarted the sim, all is good again. 

As I said I will try a short haul later this afternoon in the PMDG 738.
