May 19, 20242 yr Cap'n wanted us to run a quick maritime patrol while we're here at EKVG Vagar Airport, Even though we're flying Army birds and don't know much about ships n'boats, who's gonna argue with an excuse to go flying! Thanks to @KL791 and the entire team behind Global AI Ship Traffic! First ship spotted, let's go check it out... Looks peaceful enough, and you gotta love the rich variation in ship traffic with the latest version of GAIST! Looks like another suspect there in the harbor at Tórshavn, Capn has a girlfriend in town so we better check it out... All the sailors look like they're on board, so our Captain's girlfriend is safe... Spotted this beautiful lady, quite the looker for an older gal... Another bogey! Guessing some kinda tour ship, judging by the greenhouse windows midships? Further south, interdicted some possible suspicious activity going on between a couple of fishing vessels, The seagulls trailing the bigger boat were a nice touch! Northeast end of the Islands around Viðareiði looks clear,,, (even if the spelling isn't)... Starting to ice up so we headed down into warmer air... More activity, two bogies to check out! Another small passenger boat or maybe a personal yacht? Either way, she's gorgeous! And an ore carrier of some kind? That's the 20-screenshot limit, so the full set is here... enjoy! The one with the "Greenhouse" is a National Geographic cruise ship rebuilt from a Norwegian coastal ferry. And the larger passenger ship is the Funchal, which at least until recently has been in active service as cruise ship even if she was built in the early sixties. I saw her last autumn in Lisbon featuring a new livery, but she might be laid up there.
