I'm trying to understand how me pointing out a larger issue some of us are seeing is a problem here.😕 This is not just about you, we post here to get a consensus and either help each other with a fix or take it to Asobo. We had better performance in the sim prior to the last sim update and I hope the next update resolved it. From what I'm seeing my decreased performance seems to be do to those new NAV/Strobe lights Asobo injected into the sim with SU15 (not to mention they look like UFO's on AI aircraft). If I turn them off on my aircraft performance increases especially with the Fighters (F-35, F/A18, F-14, etc).🧐 Edited August 6, 20241 yr by Dillon FS2020 Alienware Aurora R11 10th Gen Intel Core i7 10700F - Windows 11 Home 32GB Ram NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super OC 16GB - Pimax Crystal Light VR
August 7, 20241 yr Adding to my above statement, clouds seem to affect framerates as well more than before in SU15. Even on medium settings stutters when looking and flying over the ground can be stuttery. Flying over the ground is no longer smooth as it used to be especially in VR. I've tested a few things and having a smooth flight over the ground is no longer possible unless you turn down the sim settings to unacceptable visuals. Once you're up above 4,000ft things get smooth again especially so if you're above the clouds. I first thought it was WT's gauges only to find I still had the marketplace G1000 gauges installed (the updated gauges are now standard in FS). Although there was improvement with G1000 equipped aircraft, it didn't solve the overall issue in the sim. I honestly don't know what's causing this. Hopefully it's fixed in SU16 which I doubt as 2024 is around the corner. I have pretty much observed the same thing, Not sure it is clouds on my end but on the ground it is a stutter mess and this does improve once airborne but when looking at my FTV in RTSS it's all over the place especially panning around the cockpit. I have been trying to figure out what has changed but I honestly don't believe it is my rig. Up until the last SU/WU and that global IT crash it was smooth as silk. The sim just is not performing as well as it has been Richard i7-12700K | Noctua NH-D15S Black Version | MSI Pro Z690 - A | 32 GB DDR4 3600 | Gigabyte Gaming OC 4090 | 1TB WD Blue NMVe (MSFS 2020) | 500 GB WD Black Gen 4 NVMe | 4TB WD Black Conventional | Fractal Design Torrent Case | Seasonic 1000W Gold Plus PSU | Thrustmaster Boeing Yoke | Honeycomb Throttle | Airbus Side Stick | Virpil Rudder Pedals | Sony X90K 55 Inch TV |
August 7, 20241 yr I may have stumbled on something, Earlier this afternoon I left London Stanstead in the PMDG 737 and it was a pretty horrible experience compared to what I am used too. My fps were around 66 where as in the past it was a solid 80, even the climb out was crappy with tons of FTV spikes. I kept a close eye and when I got across the English Chanel and over the coast of France I noticed the fps recovered back towards 80 but there were still lots of inconsistencies with my FTV (Frame time variance) Once I landed in Ibiza I rebooted my PC and loaded the 777 at gate 12 again at London Stanstead. This over the last few days had been a terrible experience but this time I turned off Photogrammetry. There were a few stutters here and there but nothing like what I had seen recently. I loaded a quick and dirty flight plan to Ibiza again and departed as I had done earlier. Things were a lot different this time, way smoother, I would go as far as to say like it was prior to the last Sim update & world update. I am going to continue testing tomorrow with a few flights in different aircraft with PG turned off and see how things go. I am really beginning to think something changed after the last World update rather than the sim update. I would be interested to see if this makes a difference for anyone else. I also turned off rolling cache as I had been using it to see if it made a difference, I never used it in the past. Fingers crossed ..... Must be because I have my sim always capped at 30-36 FPS and using FG, I always see my 60 fps, even in very demanding areas. Sadly I no longer use Simfx and Immersion packages, in my case it induced stutters in my otherwise Butter smooth experience. If I turned off Ai/Multiplayer Contrails, the very pronounced longframes/microfreezes are gone, and overall performance is bearable. But in my case my top priority is smoothness, so I decided to part from the beautiful effects.

I said the symptoms seem to me like there is a memory leak, which, in my case, is most likely caused by SimFX filling up RAM. Since the solution is to not use SimFX at all, I dont see how you come to the conclusion there never was a memory leak either. Out of my perspective it started when I added the 777 immersion package. I got into my new pmdg 777, immediately I got a polling stutter, or let's call it microfreeze. It's every 2-3 seconds and the sim freezes for 1 second. If you reload the flight, you can not get rid of it. If you restart the sim it can get rid of it, but reappears later in the flight again. I did not find a way to trigger the behavior, so I can't reproduce reliable. But I can reproduce, that if I remove Simfx it's never happening. To be more precise it happens in the pmdg 777, the fenix a320, the tfdi MD11, those are the planes I fly at the moment exclusively. I also found a AVSIM thread which described the exact same behavior. https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/645720-microfreezes-no-server-issue-but-clouds/ I really hope we find a solution to the problem. Kind regards McDaniel McDan out Unfortunately I didnt do anything else so far anymore. I was away for 2 weeks now and since the recent updates my MSFS isnt launching at all. 😬 I read P42 released updates, so maybe ill give it another try and tell you about it.
