Realistic Headset for FS.

Featured Replies

Hello, I was thinking it would be nice to invest in a good headset for MSFS, so I can have great sound quality but also something that feels similar to what a real pilot might wear, like Bose or similar. Is there any pair you would reccomend that will work with my PC? I currently use a cheap pair of earbuds and want something better but also feels like good quality.

Thanks

these already have the gel earpads, so you don't have to buy them as an extra. they are not hi-fi, not the best for music.

Just have a stock of AA batteries on hand for this device. They don't last long.

A pair of  Bose headphones, will be a fair representation of what you might see in the flightdeck.

A lot of people have bought a 3rd party plug in micro phone boom which turns the quiet comfort headphones into an aviation headset.

You wouldn’t really need to splash out on a noise cancelling version or the plug in boom mic, that’s expensive, just one of the basic Bose headsets which contain a built in mic would work for you and be  realistic to the real world.

You can go either wired or Bluetooth.

Ive used my  Bose A20 aviation  headset that I use on the real jets with my sim using a Bluetooth link just to try it. I fly in VR so that headset is a bit bulky to use with the VR headset so I might look at a smaller set of Bose for this years sim season as I’m a big fan of say intentions.

BEYERDYNAMIC wearer over here. I prefer the certitude of having my headphone always available so I don't want to use batteries. And I do not use voice so I do not need a mic.

These headphones sounds nice, natural audio and they are comfortable to wear. I've nocited that lots of radio station here in BE have them in use in the studio.

Even the USB device?

If I remember correctly, the non-USB required a 9v battery for the microphone (not AA) as previously stated. Just an assumption on my part, but if the USB also uses 9v for the microphone, I would think it would eat up the battery too. I quit using mine because the 9v batteries would drain every couple of days.

I'll confirm the 9er Systems adapter does NOT need batteries.

We use the 5V from the USB port and step it up to ~12v to operate the mic.
