December 26, 200718 yr ...... five days now and no link or response from CS. Meanwhile the bill has already hit my Visa account (via Paypal).
December 27, 200718 yr I have never had a problem with purchasing from Captain Sim or any other vendor. On the other had the only time I ever had a problem purchasing anything online was when I used Pay Pal. I used them once and never again. I think to many people blame the vendor but never stop to think of the method they used for purchase. December 27, 200718 yr Hey man, have you noticed the windshield wipers even work? Now that's depth for you..
December 27, 200718 yr It's really a piece of art.The framerate is approximately only 20% lower than the default CRJ and the gauges are really smooth.A total surprise is that the HerkX in FSX gives me a higher framerate than the fs9 Herk in fs9!RegardsBerntCapt 767
December 27, 200718 yr You know, I am beginning to think that folks are not checking their spam filters. If you are running a "strong" or aggressive spam setup, then there is chance that the registration email could have been routed to the filter without you ever knowing it. I have had it happen to me.I purchased the 130 yesterday using my Visa and had zero issues. From time of pushing the purchase button to time of flying the circuit at AVSIM's home airport (KCHO), was all of (maybe) 10 minutes. And all I can say is "Job well done Captain Sim!". She is a beauty and if you love the Herc, then the base package is worth the purchase (I won't be buying the add-on's as I have no interest in the J version).
December 27, 200718 yr The C-130 for FSX is as good a product as any out there for FSX SP2. I own the Level D 767, Real Air Sia Marchetti, DA Do-27, Eaglesoft Twin Commanche, and F1 PC12. The Captain Sim is as good or better than those aircraft with hardly any impact on framerates or certainly no more than any of the above aircraft. It is a FULL product and everything works as advertised. Bottom line is that since I own the aircraft and you don't your totally wrong about this one. December 27, 200718 yr Just to add some comments to Tom's words - if you pay by e-check by PayPal it sometimes may take up to 5 business days to be processed, may be this is the reason. I also do not like paying by PayPal.As to the Herk - really, she is a beauty! I have FS9 version (great as well), but FSX one is even better - visuals, systems, FPS. Worth every penny IMHO. Regards,Stan
December 27, 200718 yr You're probably right .....between paypal & the holidays it took a while, but got it today. No problem with install. Lot of clickity-clicking to accept the gauges the first time, but then fine. And it is nicer than my FS9 version. As they say "a thing of beauty and a sight to behold"!Can you describe just how you mouse across the wiper switch to get it out of "park"? I got it to work in FS9, but I tried dragging it every which way tonight and can't get the switch to move.
December 28, 200718 yr I pay by PayPal all the time with no problems, receiving or sending payments. It works well with vendors that are fully integrated with PayPal. Such as E-Bay, obviously because E-Bay owns PayPal so they are fully integrated.I agree with Tom Allensworth, email spam filters may be the problem. My ISP has problems with MSN Games and /or Microsoft in general because of the MSN "generic" passport type email addresses.
December 29, 200718 yr Hello all,I wanted to share a few thoughts on the Hercules that was released for FSX. This opinion is coming stricty from a technical side of the issue and only as such and not as a promo. As an invitee to be part of the beta team With 3500 flight hours in the seat of the flight Engineers position and 15 years of maintaining them I found the Aircraft, both exterior and systems wise to be as accurate as possible.Myself, along with others, I feel, tried to give Captain Sim as much feedback as possible during beta testing and they were aggressive in fixing those issues that we reported. I believe that an aircraft this complex and complicated will never be perfect but my real world experience is a good backdrop for what Captainsim has achieved.Again, I want to be clear about this, This is not an advertisment for Captian Sim. I am posting this for those that are interested in what small part of the Beta Team was composed of. My only interest in this project as well as the FS9 C-130 was to help develope the most accurate C-130 Hercules for flight simming so that I ( call me self-centered ;o) can keep flying in the C-130 now that I have retired.Fly safeDave
December 29, 200718 yr Hear, hear. Its too expensive but its still an awesome piece of work. Their B-52H is just as exciting to me as the FSX Realair spifire. Who knows when it will be out though. :(http://sio.midco.net/FTP4/06.jpghttp://sio.midco.net/FTP4/07.jpg
December 29, 200718 yr Solar Eagle or, whatever your real name is? Thanks for posting those shots of the B-52.I can't wait to see it and fly it (even if it does have problems;-) ) it's looking very good so far. Dave Taylor
December 29, 200718 yr Dave,And a good job you guys did too. I wished someone had asked about that pesky APN-59 radar on the A's, B's, C's and D's though. It's a beast and I could have provided some good detail on it. :)
December 29, 200718 yr I can't wait for that Capt Sim's B-52H. Looking forward to it.. I am drooling already!Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
December 29, 200718 yr ".....and they were aggressive in fixing those issues that we reported."This is the best news in the whole thread. You're renewing my hope that Captain Sim will become more user focused.
