For those who are too lazy to read:

1) Lighting update & dark cockpits fixed.

2) Material model update to get X-Plane materials more like Blender/Substance.

3) ATC with SIDs/STARs support.

4) New weather radar, better visuals, live weather improvements & weather SDK/API updates for plugins.

5) Networking fixes.

Let's see if the Weather SDK will allow Active Sky to continue developing ASXP12...

Regarding ATC, SID and START processing looks promising.

I'm on the fence with this one. I find it hard enough to hit click spots now much less if I have to chase them around the cockpit from plane movements.. 😬

One of the devs mentioned that you will be able to disable it, if memory is correct.

Yeah, I think it replaces that cinema verite option and can be switched off just like that.

I'm looking forward to it, it definitely adds a lot of immersion.

I think it's still 12.2.0, but now this update will include the lighting improvement as well while before it was targeted for 12.3.0.

So now seems 12.2.0 should be a physics & graphics update, not just physics as was mentioned few months earlier.

Those are the long waited ones?

  • Better weather sync over the internet.

As of now the weather branch also has network sync of trucks and jetways to external visuals. This only affects users using external visuals but for those users, it’s a big feature, and it’s also an important foundational technology for us.
