Need help for controller!

Featured Replies

Hey guys!

After returning to the world of simming after almost 7 years, I am thinking to kick start my flight simming again. But as I have shifted to a new resident, I found that my joystick is no longer with me. I think it's kept in some of the remotest area of the new house. By the way I have thought of buying the TCS yoke and throttles set next year. But for now, I am thinking to buy a cheap Xbox like controller (Following is the link: https://www.amazon.in/Enter-USB-Game-Vibration-GPV/dp/B00E9891EK/ref=asc_df_B00E9891EK/?tag=googleshopmob-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=709936632465&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=467116286759000774&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1007828&hvtargid=pla-318315042226&psc=1&mcid=b1d2cdd24fe63c6d849c48d93609058c&gad_source=1). Would someone help me to know whether I can play FSX using these types of controller?

Thank you!

I normally use a Xbox 360 wired gamepad. It's served me very well for many years but the stick centering is worn out.

I very recently bought a Xbox One wireless gamepad. I do not like, it feels cheap. Both sticks right out the box have way more center slop than I expected or want.

I am now happy with a Sony Dual Shock 4 gamepad running with DS4Windows free software, best setup by far. EXTREMELY configurable. Very neat to be able to simple touch the touchpad and look around instead of having to use the mouse.

Another vote for the 3D Extreme. It has all the basics needed for FS: self centering axes for pitch, roll and yaw, and a non-centering one for throttle.

Would anybody kindly say me that whether FSX supports these types of controllers and whether I require some additional software for using these controllers in order to assign controls or make compatible with FSX? Moreover do I need FSUIPC to run such controllers with FSX?

If your computer can natively see and calibrate a controller with or without drivers from the manufacturer it should work fine in fsx. Having said that, fsuipc will enhance your experience. Especially with multiple planes. Indispensable imo and most other simmers opinions.

Can anybody just elaborate me about what is basically the use of FSUIPC? Actually my friend suggested me that and I really wanted to know how can FSUIPC enhance my simming experience. Thank you!

It can allow you to program multiple actions to a single button or switch. It can save your flight automatically every few minutes so in the event of a crash you can just reload the flight from the last autosave. Very useful believe me. Many other useful features  too. The Swiss Army Knife of flight sim. 😁

Wow! I didn't knew it can do so many tasks! From where can I buy that software? Moreover my friend has a licensed version of FSUIPC, so if I borrow it from him, will I be able to run it in my PC? (Will it be legal to use my friend's license?) Also, will a FSUIPC for FSX can also be used in FS9?

Thank you!

It's available here but bear in mind the version for FSX and earlier versions of P3D is not compatible with MSFS or later versions of P3D. Decide which sim you're going to use and buy the relevant version. I would suggest you take advice as to which sim to go with but it's dependent on your computer's capabilities.

Software is licenced to the purchaser and cannot be shared. That's piracy and illegal. Developers take steps these days to prevent piracy. It's not expensive and a lot of hard work has gone into its development.

Okay, so I would consider buying it... Would anybody say me what is that WIDE FS 7 software made by that same developer?

My rules of thumb for happy simming :

1) Buy the sim

2)Buy the version of fsuipc that works with it

3)Buy addon planes /scenery erc

4)Enjoy everything working how I want it to 😎

You do like asking others to be your personal search engine don't you lol?

If you only use one computer for simming you don't need it.
