For some reason, and I'm sure it's finger trouble somewhere along the line, but after creating a flight plan in Simbrief and then importing into the PMDG 738, BATC reads the flight as Airbus653 and not Boeing. Does anone have any idea what the issue may be? Cheers.

What are you using as airline code in Simbrief - 3 or 2 letter?

It is indeed. You need the 3 Letter code.

Ah ha! Thanks. I thought it was finger trouble! 

Had the same problem first time I flew an airliner with BATC.  Put the 2 letter IATA code in for the callsign instead of the 3 letter ICAO code.  Was confused the whole flight.

Shows that none of you flew with online ATC before. 

Callsigns in flightplans are always ICAO Standard. That's how you file. 

 

IATA is for us cattle in the cabin. 😉

Hmm, confused! Just in a flight from LDSP down to LGAV and have filed a flight plan with Air Berlin and used the code AB653 but it's still reading it as Airbus53. What am I doing wrong?

You used the IATA code, correct ICAO callsign would be BER653.

Yeah,  the letters are the things in the alphabet, there has to be three of them    😄
