R66 Sound Immersion NG

After 4 recording sessions (recording both R44 and R66 from inside and outside, from multiple angles), and two months of intensive tweaking, adjusting, adding new features, and testing loop, I'm proud to announce Immersive Audio's first venture into MSFS soundscapes - R66 Sound Immersion NG.

It is developed exclusively for CowanSim R66, and it covers all the sounds you hear in the real aircraft, and beyond (more info below). Be sure to check out the Official Sounds Demonstration video, as it covers, in lengthy 15 minutes, all the features within the soundpack.

  • All sounds derived from 96khz, 24bit recordings.
  • Over 240MB of high quality sounds and long loops for big audio variations.

    All sound details covered, including:
    • Completely authentic startup, shutdown, idle and full throttle N1 sounds.
    • Completely authentic sounds of cyclic, collective and pedals movements.
    • All buttons, switches, knobs, levers, door sounds, derived from the cleanest in-cockpit recordings.
    • Battery/gyro and air condition, including authentic spool up and down, with a circuit breaker sounds.
  • Battery sound depends on voltage.
  • Authentic cockpit vibration sounds during slow speed hovering.
  • Dynamic blade slap sounds depending on various factors, tweaked after real R66 pilot inputs.
  • Rotor blades noise that changes based on collective/blade angle.
  • Completely authentic open door(s) sound environment. It's not a classic switch from internal to external sound mix.
  • Sounds of dust particles hitting the airframe on takeoff and landings, for better perception of AGL and enhanced flying audio immersion.
  • Rotor sounds are reflected off the ground at really low altitudes.
  • Don't leave the door open during takeoff and especially flight, it will get very loud! Wind noises depend on blade angle and aircraft speed.
  • Rotor blade sound matching the blades RPM during startup and shutdown.
  • Authentic transmission whine, especially audible after shutdown.
  • Low RPM and ELT warning alarms.
  • Scrape sounds if you love to destroy the paint on the landing skids. It will really tell you how good or bad your takeoffs and landings are.
  • Seatbelt On/Off sounds, activating in appropriate moments.
  • Airframe vibration low frequency noise, depending on the rotor stress level/blades angle.
  • Engine cooldown sounds. Don't touch any hot parts!
  • Touchdown thumps, depending on vertical speed.
  • Fully authentic exterior sounds that changes dynamically depending on distance, speed, altitude and viewing angles.
  • If you get close in external views to the helicopter during flight, you will hear an authentic wind sound hitting the camera microphones/observer.
  • Police radio chatter that can be activated via "reserved" cockpit switch.
  • Dynamic windshield rain sounds, depending on amount of rain and wind hitting the windshield.

Current system: ASUS PRIME Z690-P D4, Intel 12900k, 32GB RAM @ 3600mhz, Zotac RTX 3090 Trinity, M2 SSD, Oculus Quest 2.

That blade slap sound 🤌🏼 and the thump of the combustion when the fuel is added on startup. Beautiful work man!

Thank you both.

invested my heart and soul into this soundpack, so I hope the quality reflects that.

Cheers

I'll be buying at orbx when it's available there.  I'm not a big fan of SM.

The Cowansim R66 is a decent addon.  I wish I had proper controls with longer range of travel though.  It's pretty twitchy on my old hardware.

Will grab when available at a vendor other than Simmarket.

It was released on ORBX just an hour ago. Also CowanSim R66 is on 50% discount too.
It will be available on Flightsim.to soon, and also MSFS Marketplace in a few days.

Thank you!

Just released on ORBX 🙂
I fly with VKB Gladiator NXT EVO, at least until I get a decent cyclic. Be sure to set extreme deadzones to 20-30%, so you have more room for finer control on takeoffs and landings, but you need to push the stick more forward to gain speed.

What is the issues with Simmarket tats causing everyone to not want to shop there?

As for the Simmarket question...if you know....you know.

And that is quite noticeable. Wonderful sound set, so real to life.
Unfortunately I do not have the Cowan Sim Robinson, otherwise I would have purchased it.

Bought the soundpack this morning via Orbx.  It's superb - maybe the best heli soundset I've ever heard!

Thank you, appreciated!

Also, R66 is now 50% off on ORBX, where the soundpack also sells.

Cheers!

Forgot to mention that customers of this soundpack will get the upcoming soundpack for MSFS 2024 default R66 for 50% off (if bought in online shops that support that kind of discount). 🙂

Cheers all!

word not allowed. I just bought it from the market place like 10 minutes ago, wish I would have seen this post, I would have waited . Was thinking this was kind of a given, considering its so close to MSFS2024 launch. Oh well, live and learn. I won't be buying it again for 2024

First of all, Cowansim R66 is not the same as default R66 for 2024. Two different products. Second of all, MSFS Marketplace doesn't allow that kind of discounts, like in other shops. Third of all, who said we won't sell the soundpack for default R66 in 2024 initially with a lower price on MSFS Marketplace?

We are trying our best to be fair to our customers, by providing discounts, and this is the answer we get. Your answer is literally the way of saying "better sell it full price everywhere, even if it's not fair, then let Marketplace customers to be in this situation!".

As I said, default R66 in 2024 will be probably discounted from the beginning. We really can't affect how Microsoft is doing things on the Marketplace, and match our selling politics with other shops.
