PMDG 737 Panel Freeze is Back!!

Featured Replies

Updated PMDG 737-800 to 3.0.105 and took her for a flight.  All going ok until I started the descent then the panel froze!   This used to happen on final approach, but now it's happening much earlier in the flight.

Aircraft is still flying, but can't do anything with the panel - just as before.

It's broken again!!

My installation isn't broken, has been fine all along.

I've seen the panel freeze-ups a few times, and in a number of different aircraft add-ons (PMDG 737/777, Fenix A320, TFDi MD-11).  I think the prevailing thought is that there's a problem somewhere deep in MSFS that's making Simconnect go to sleep.

I started limiting the MSFS frame output to 40 fps using MSI's RTSS utility to give the CPU some headroom, rather than running it all-out all the time.  I then use LSFG to do frame generation to double the rate in the GPU, and have not had a single freeze since.

I had this happen in the Fenix yesterday. I heard the AP disconnect sound and noticed the plane was in the process of missing a turn. I could still control it, but the displays were frozen.

I just has this same issue happen to me this evening. It had happened one other time so I thought it was just a fluke. I've been searching all over for answers on this but haven't found anything. Has anyone else had any luck figuring out what's causing this?

The route request page on FMC still crashes entire sim for me. Fortunately I like entering my own route but I'll stop saving them in future as I can't actually recall them later.
