Check out my 2D panels on a touchscreen

Hi All,I thought I would re-open this thread again.I have set up TouchBuddy profiles for both FSX and FS9, but for some reason, I not able to implement the elevator trim feature, which requires using Numpad1 and Numpad7. I can make it move via the keyboard, but not via TouchBuddy using either client/server, or local mode. However, I can use all the Numpad keys when running my Falcon 4.0 AF profile. For whatever reason, it just dosn't move the trim wheel, but rather just flashes to another view and back again. I posted the details in the hardware section of AVSIM.Have those of you using TouchBuddy software, been able to successfully implement the elevator trim feature?I just don't know what is causing this, any ideas?Bill

check to see if you have the elevator trim mapped to a joystick axis. this would prevent elevator trim changes via other methods. i had my trim mapped to my joystick's throttle axis, but this made the autopilot malfunction since the autopilot adjusts pitch via the elevator trim.

For some reason, it wants to change the view, this is really wierd. But I gather, your FSX profile, at least elevator trim, works fine?Any other thoughts?Bill

Sounds like a numlock issue of some kind... with numlock off (or maybe on... cant remember which), the Num 1 and Num 7 keys control trim, but when numlock is on, those keys control your view (for example, Num 7 would be looking forward and left)Sounds like you have numlock set wrong, so it is trying to control the view and not the trim.

BTW - it seems like all the Numpad keys behave the same under FS9, but work OK with Falcn 4.0.Bill

Hey guys, I apologize in advance, I hate responding to my own posts but I was hoping someone can just give a quick answer because if it is yes I am getting a touchscreen as my 4th monitor immediately. Would I be able to drag an FMC window to the touchscreen monitor and "type" into the FMC using a touchscreen monitor? Am I just oversimplifying or is it really that easy? Thanks in advance,-PaulPrimary RigLiquid CooledIntel C2D E8500 @3.8Asus P5N32SLI-Plus2 gigs Corsair XMS PC6400 4 4 4 12 @810Dual OC'd XFX 8800GTX @ 2 gigs24 inch Widescreen LCD 16XAA/16XAFDual 19 inch LCD'sRaid-0+1PCPower and Cooling 1k Quad SLIhttp://home.comcast.net/~psolk/3monitorsa.htmlBackup RigAMD 4000 San Diego @ 2.72 Gigs Kingston Corsair XMS CL2XFX 7900 GTX Raid-0psolk.jpg

I saw that and I actually have the white board equivalent that mounts in the same place Saitek shipped with for a limited time. I love the white board for using as a scratchpad when being issued commands. My only issue personally is that the Saitek unit doesn't give me any info I really want.To the original OP, can you drop an FMC to a touchscreen monitor and "type" into the fmc onscreen? That is what I want to know. If I can do that I need to order a 4th monitor ;)Thanks in advance for the info, great post,-PPrimary RigLiquid CooledIntel C2D E8500 @ 3.8Asus P5N32SLI-Plus2 gigs Corsair XMS PC6400 4 4 4 12 @940Dual OC'd XFX 8800GTX @ 2 gigs24 inch Widescreen LCD 16XAA/16XAFDual 19 inch LCD'sRaid-0+1PCPower and Cooling 1k Quad SLIhttp://home.comcast.net/~psolk/3monitorsa.htmlBackup RigAMD 4000 San Diego @ 2.72 Gigs Kingston Corsair XMS CL2XFX 7900 GTX Raid-0psolk.jpg

Who needs an FMC? Meh!I don't know the answer, but considering he has the default GPS on one, it would be lame if you could NOT use the buttons, like OBS, MSG, etc with your fingers. I would guess it does work.
