I haven't installed MSFS 2024 yet.

Does anyone know if the Google Map Enhancement Mod work in 2024?   If yes, is a different version of the tool than what is used for 2020 required?  I haven't been able to find these answers online,

Thanks,

Brian

I've tried it without success.

I would really like to use it.  I'm finding the terrain textures of MS2024 really blurry and poor quality, particularly at distance.  It's almost a dealbreaker for my sim.  I hope the guy is working on the mod.

If you mean the tool by derekhe, It has been updated, and does work. He added some options for 2024. It should auto update.

Sure. The enhancement mod seems to deliver quite new bing map data; the data in fs 2024 (judged by flying over areas I know perfectly well) must be partially at least 4 years old.

I see slightly sharper ground textures both near the aircraft and at a distance.  I had table mountain looking like a block Minecraft mush, and now it has at least a bit of definition.  I have to say I think the default texturing is really poor, I guess due to the servers getting hammered, and it all being watered down for the XBox crowd.

I assumed using the map mod in 2024 means you lose the ai generated rocks/stone/ground undulation etc.

Up to now I am very satisfied with the Latest Bing map + REX Atmos in making the look of MSFS 2020 so much better.

But good to see it is available for MSFS 2024 too…

I have had flights where the textures were quite poor, I just had to look away, and some where they have been very good so I expect this is also related to the servers. Hopefully in a week or two the use will level off and the algorithms will learn and begin to predict, allocate and adjust resources to allow for a more consistent experience. Also hopefully they will open the Marketplace and related functionality so we can download our assets -- it will help not needing to stream the aircraft we are in --  and areas we frequently fly in, which should help each of us individually but also overall as the demand for streamed resources will go down a little.
