Sudden loss of FPS

Featured Replies

I posted this morning that I had a sudden loss of FPS.. Flying the PMDG 737 I usually average around 35-37 DPS. I then , restarted Windows, restarted the flight and it seemed FPS returned to normal. About 1/2 hour ago, I started my second flight of the day, and I noticed that the FPS were about 20% lower than normal, on the ramp.  I then took off, on a flight from KBNA to KTPA, and now my average FPS have dropped from around 35-37, to 19-22.. I check all my settings in MSFS and noticed that Multiplayer ( which I have never used ever) had been turned on, Live Weather ( which I don't use because I have Active Sky), was also turned  on, and Live Traffic ( which I don't use either) was also on. I turned all those off, still FPS are in the dumpster. I then stopped Active Sky and FSLTL , and zero difference.

I am pretty convinced at this point unless someone can suggest something else, that something has happened the MSFS 2020 servers.  BTW I use Auto FPS, so easy to check FPS while I am flying.

I have the same problem. I flew just now PMDG777 and during cruise my ATC went offline mode. The landing was also stuttery like it’s a slow download of airport textures. I hope they are not touching FS2020 servers to fix that mess FS2024. My internet seemed has good speed but I feel like FS2020 became more stuttery

I think that seems to be what they have done. They have switched severs to 2024 from 2020.

If they did that, than their so called cloud based FS2024 is flawed. I hope it’s not a marketing move because they want everyone to switch to FS2024 just like Apple did to slow down old phones on purpose so people can switch to new model

I have been flying MSFS 2020 almost since day one. I have never had performance like I am seeing today. And the scenery looks worse than P3D.

This is infurating if they did that. Now we can non working FS 2024 and partially working FS2020. Because of their own mess up, Asobo is continuing to mess up by involving FS 2020. I had a feel this would happen when FS 2024 was announced to be streaming only. Even BlueBird developer responded asking for Asobo to make Fs2024 Offline

Well, I just restarted my PC for the fourth time today, and it seems my FPS are back to normal, and least sitting on the ramp.

On my way to LHBP with the Fenix A320.

Performance is smooth as glass and ground texture are crystal clear.

Yes, it's probably a server problem. I'm on a european server.

think  that   when you use  active sky  its  turns  turns  msfs  live weather off   doesnt  matter  if  you set it to off  or  on in msfs  settings

I am still convinced this is 'innocent'. You could have all the server bandwidth in the world allocated to your sim but if your neighbours are binging a Netflix series and you're on bandwidth sharing or throttling your wna-ed.

One of the first things I did was to check my download speed, it was normal.
