If you feel this way, then Flight Sim is the wrong hobby for you.  There has never been a release that was without problems, even FSX was really buggy when released in 2006, and didn't take until

There has never been a release of MSFS that went well, they develop over time

  • The last two years, I have flown only Airliners 99% of the time.  I see no advantage at all to moving to MS 2024. 2020 is rock solid, never crashes, or glitches and everything works flawlessly. Pebble

None.

I'll wait 1-2 Years and see if things improve.

The thin client / stream everything model is very suspicious - I gladly 'sacrifice' SSD Space if it means I can run a basic version of my sim offline when the need arises.

For now I think MSFS2020 is a well polished Flightsim-Platform and Asobo / Microsoft have promised continued Support for at least until 2030.

Which I intend to use to it's fullest.

No need for me to switch to this seemingly broken mess that ( currently ) is MSFS2024.

I will admit that MS 2024 looks much better in 2024 with the Fenix videos I saw at FL 350 than in MS 2020 but not enough to move over just yet. I'm just still on the fence for now about MS 2024.

I manage to get controls sorted to get the 172 G1000 In the air around Copenhagen with Flytampa EKCH . Taxing felt good until the plane started to loose ground and flipped . I noticed the G1000 only saw a lot of grass/stones instead of taxiway and runway. In the air it was a good first flight.

HC Alpha Yoke and default 2024 scheme and all the buttons worked.

My GTX1080TI could handle LOD100/100 with 4K@70% and mostly high settings with a few set at medium. 60-85% load on the GPU @25HZ😀

Update: Forgot about the trim which i still believe has a big impact clicking only once. Whats your verdict? A2A feels way better

I am not convinced yet. There is still so much to improve. And maybe some bugs will never get fixed… After over 20 years of Flightsim you get used to it 😔

For me MS and Asobo over promised and underdelivered! I know that’s hard but to pay a lot of money to buy into an alpha and claim it as a full release was a really bad move.

The lack of official communication didn’t help either.

At least we can enjoy a matured MSFS2020 for the time being and watch them bringing the MSFS2024 into a beta stage…

What makes it difficult for users flying 2020, is moving to 2024, for many is a major step backwards. Going to take many months for them to get the kinks out of this software, I am afraid.

I've just upgraded my internet from 50 to 250 mb/s. It's made a modest but noticable improvement. The occasional 1 or 2 second pauses are almost all gone and the photogrammety has improved a little, but not as much as I was hoping. Maybe servers still need to improve. However, my game start time is still anywhere from 2.5 to 7 minutes most of the time. Occasionally only 1.5mins
