November 25, 20241 yr I had the 2024 controls working, the community addons loading, was flying with nice scenery at 40 FPS. I did a normal end flight, main menu, quit to desktop. Got a Flight Sim error - close program message while it was shutting down. Restarted 2024 sim and everything was good - flew fine, etc. Shut down normally thru the quit to desktop button and the mouse was returned to a normal desktop. No error message BUT Steam showed the sim had not ended and Task Manager showed a Flightsim2024 process with memory allocated but using no other resources. Pressed STOP in Steam and Steam told me the sim had ended. When I restarted sim - the community folder pointer was changed back to the default, and all my control profiles were GONE! All my Graphics settings were also changed to default. Earlier today I started the sim as usual and ended up in my desired plane (A2A Comanche) on RWY 28R at KMYF. BUT - the control profiles were all out of whack and I was only getting 1 to 4 fps despite the CPU and GPU usage being almost negligible. There was NO network activity. Dev mode showed the frame time to be 25ms and the GPU time about 28ms. Nothing else was running on the system but the sim was almost completely non-responsive. Clicking on a control in the cockpit view resulted in a one to two second delay before the desired action occurred (e.g. setting the parking brake). There was also a one second or so delay in responding to the throttle or yoke. But - CPU/GPU showed almost nothing happening. Did a normal shutdown, restarted at the EXACT same place/scenario and saw 45 FPS with CPU at 80% on one processor and the GPU at about 75%. DevMode showed CPU and GPU time to be the same as when I was seeing 1 to 4 fps. Network activity was about 1Mbs. Flew around San Diego and the sim worked perfectly. Until I tried to shut it down as described above. How can these seemingly random errors continue to happen? November 25, 20241 yr I would not even consider running anything except vanilla at this stage. 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 96GB DDR5 | 4K G-Sync | Win11 Pro
November 26, 20241 yr Having issues with my Thrusmaster Airbus Stick. Set up profile with my desired commands, came back later and about 60% of them were now missing. Had to assign them again. Will see if they are there in the AM. Very frustrating. Installed the Fenix A320/319/321 but can't get any power. Anyone know how to solve that issue? Time to go back to the "old man" (MSFS2020) until MS/ASOBO gets the bugs out, maybe next year?

November 27, 20241 yr Well, MSFS2020 seems to be working fine now; Let's see, by 2028 MSFS2024 should be reasonably decent, just before MSFS 2028 comes out. 😉 Edited November 27, 20241 yr by topcat_1952 mistype
