November 26, 20241 yr I see no raindrops on the windshield, and the rain animations falling and hitting the ground looks like a cartoon to me. Are y'all having the same experience? Edited November 26, 20241 yr by Blueline308
November 26, 20241 yr The rain on windshield effect is pretty weak, sometimes it's not even there. Also, I am pretty sure they said they implemented functioning wipers but the one time I saw drops on the windshield and turned on the wipers, not much happened. November 27, 20241 yr Yes they mentioned working wipers with 2024. I have yet to see this working. Asus Tuf Gaming Plus B550 - Ryzen 7 5800X3D - Asus GeForce 4080 RTX OC Edition - 64GB DDR4 (3600Mhz) - EVGA 850W Power Supply - 2X 1 TB NVME PCIE gen 4 - Windows 11 (25H2)
November 27, 20241 yr Fenix wipers are working in 2024. Very strange since default planes should use the new wiper effects as well. Either a bug or rushed sim
November 27, 20241 yr Fenix wipers are working in 2024 but default planes do not. Either a bug or rushed sim that didn’t implement default planes using the new wiper technology
November 27, 20241 yr So water is dispersed with the wipers on using the Fenix? At the moment sim crashes when loading the Fenix without any mods Asus Tuf Gaming Plus B550 - Ryzen 7 5800X3D - Asus GeForce 4080 RTX OC Edition - 64GB DDR4 (3600Mhz) - EVGA 850W Power Supply - 2X 1 TB NVME PCIE gen 4 - Windows 11 (25H2)
November 27, 20241 yr Yes that is correct. First plane for fs2024 that does it. For me it works fine. Try reinstalling Fenix. It didn’t work for me first time but worked the second . Edited November 27, 20241 yr by Aviator_2024
November 27, 20241 yr I've had a look around but can't find an answer to this, so I'm hoping someone 'in the know' may have the answer. This is what Robert Randazzo said on the PMDG forum in April 2022, clearly aimed at 2020, about the windscreen rain effects: "We reached out to Asobo on the topic of rain on windshields and the apparent lack of wiper effect. They replied back that the effect is pending. For this reason, we slid that item off of the research agenda since they will turn that on via their own development cycle anyway." I think I'm correct in saying that Fenix have implemented it into the 300 series, but this is a 'workaround' and the effect has not been enabled by default in the sim itself. So this related to 2020, if it was pending by Asobo back them, do I assume that it has now been implemented in 2024? November 27, 20241 yr You can have working wipers in 2024 - Addons do have to be updated to be able to use it though. Fenix have added that support in their experimental 2024 update you can see it working in this video: Edited November 27, 20241 yr by Zangoose Vote to fix transparent sun visors having no effect on the sun glare effect in MSFS at: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/sun-shades-sun-visors-not-influencing-light-in-cockpit/691565/

There is native support for wiper effects in 2024. The 2024 SDK has a dedicated page about it: https://docs.flightsimulator.com/msfs2024/html/3_Models_And_Textures/Modeling/Aircraft/Airframe/Windshield_And_Windows.htm but developers do need to add it to their addons to be able to use it. I don't believe there is any other 2024 addons that use said support at this time (I could be wrong on that) which is why you may not be seeing it in anything other than Fenix at this time. No work arounds here, we simply followed the SDK page on wipers, it took us about 15-20 minutes to implement across all 3 aircraft variants. It simply seems that none of the default aircraft use this feature except the AS350.

Let's hope PMDG can also impelement it in their line of planes. Many thanks.
