November 27, 20241 yr I’m noticing a lot of planes with any type of glass are very dark and the outside very bright? anyone else? I find steam gauges not so much… any way I can control this? Or will I need the powers to be to patch this? Ciao!
November 27, 20241 yr If it's what I think you're referring to - it's a bug that's affecting certain planes especially third party ones. For example the MD-11 would be perfectly flyable but all displays are very dim. They all work fine at night though. Sounds like it'll be one of the issues fixed hopefully in either the next hotfix (due next week) or the large patch coming the following week (w/c Dec 9th).

I find steam gauges not so much… any way I can control this? Or will I need the powers to be to patch this? There is major bug affecting all aircraft that automatically sense and react to the outside environment in regards to time of day. What is occurring is that the 2024 automatic sensing feature is using GMT for cockpit lighting instead of using local time. I am in the eastern USA and fly mostly in EST and CST. 5 and 6 hours respectively from GMT. For now all you can do is use the time slider in the weather settings (handlebar menu) and drag it to where you pull the time until the indicated GMT time is instead set to your local time. Caveat here. That will also simultaneously change your local time. So you might in this interim while waiting for a 2024 update experience situations where you get cockpit lighting corrected, but see outside environment change to a detriment. Example: I have a normal 5 hour differential between local and GMT. If I am at 1200 local, GMT is at 1700 and this time of year is getting dark. If I slide the slider back to where GMT is at 1200 that changes my local time (outside the cockpit) to 0700, and it is just getting to daybreak. This is only affecting those more sophisticated aircraft models that automatically adjust cockpit lighting. Others are unaffected.
