This was my first test flight. Only one error found so far in the snow covered mountain tiles.

Using latest Bing maps to replace the aging Asobe default ones in sim.

All images are direct screen shots from the sim, no post effects/edits at all and zero filters in sim too. All default sim colouring.

Will post more links of further tests if I am impressed enough.

Some posts on the site for this mod,, with jpgs, stating that MS 2020 with the new Bing Maps looks better than MS 2024.

I personally love flying without filters. As a photographer I love the natural look of the planet it's beautiful enough without trying to tart it up with saturation, vibrance and sharpness. So far I've only flown in South America, but the browns and reds! The overwhelming greenness has gone. I need to try UK/USA/PACIFIC as well soon. I have only used the latest Bing maps so far , not Google so it's like for like pretty much except recent maps and NO filters.

Here is another short trip but with more detail of the mountains. I probably need to do this default next because I'm sure I never saw this amount of subtle natural colour before?

For those that use this mod, I just installed it today after a couple of years away. There is a box on the home page under the chose a map box that says "enable high LOD and Leave mod. " I see a constant stream of images in that box, in the thousand and thousands. I don't remember that in the last version I used years ago. Is this normal? 

 

 

Interested in maybe getting a license to explore the other map options but can't find any pricing even thru the license link in the tool. Slightly related, with all the world updates to mfs2020, are there any meshes still worth getting

I use a previous version with the high LoD feature.

It works very well. I’d click on the high lod box and see how you get on.

I presume the other box means leave this (hi lod) mode.

OK, I just restarted it, and now it is just loading the 4 images, which if I remember correctly, is what it did the last time I used it.  Thanks.

OK, if yours doesn't do this , there must be something wrong.  Guess I will just reinstall it. I restarted it, and now it is doing the same thing.

I don't know if it's placebo or not, but does this mod get rid of the blurry distant mountains and terrain?

That I believe is a preview to show you the app is pulling data. It should show that many as they are all small tiles.

$30 a year is insane if I stick with it. I can fine tune the ground look without having to install NVidia bloatware.

OK, I see in that link you posted. that you have the same thing I do, with a very high image count (206,121) , so I guess mine is working correctly..

The high lod mode is pretty much LOD 400 Enhanced by downloading extra tiles and merging them. If you're using a much higher LOD via AutoFPS I'm not sure what will happen. It LOOKS good though.

The LEAVE button does not mean leave the option on. It means LEAVE PC for a break so PAUSE downloading data to save your data cap if you have one.

I'd recommend FULLY reading the manual to avoid worrisome error messages!
