Real Life Night Lighting Comparison

I have honestly seen airport lighting that bright in daylight and I’ve had to ask the tower controller to turn it down as it was dazzling.

The have a scalable setting in the tower for the lighting and that level of intensity would be suitable for daylight LVOs. Surely it would be also easy enough in the sim to have an auto/manual intensity setting?

Like your idea, would be great if we could control the intensity.

As they mentioned in the stream the way they currently handle airport lighting is broken.

  • Its been like this since the beginning of flight simming.  MS2024 should be better than it is though.

  • 2020 is , imho, more realistic than 2024 in the night lights department....

  • The night flying experience has been an issue since 2020. None of them are close to real life night flying, not close AT ALL.

I seem to remember P3D used to be quite good in that in LVOs the lighting would automatically be cranked up accordingly, in this sim we can’t adjust the viz down to LVO levels, unless I’ve missed something?

The F1 race 🙂  I would have to check if we are the data layer for the sphere.  We have a huge partnerships with Nvidia for the 800G backbones for their GPU racks though.  800G backbone...  That's 800 Gb/s over the network.

I could have MSFS 2024 downloaded in like 3 seconds LOL

Yeah, and on a good day you might not even suffer any blurred or popping scenery!

Really, subjective. How can you find this decent?

What airport are you seeing that at?

I have yet to see what appears to be bad?

Also, Yes it is still subjective (or sporadic perhaps) because I have yet to see any airport night lighting that I have observed with some of the US Airports I have used at night in the game.

EDDM, unfortunately for me it's one of my 'home' airports. Maybe it's one of the worst, it's like a lighthouse beacon from 20,000ft! But it's the taxiway lighting that's the real issue at most airports. If you get a chance go and have a look, would be interested to know if you see the same.

Asobo claim it's going to be fixed, so will be patient.
