Featured Replies

Hi,

My homecockpit is finally working at 98% with msfs24 so now i would like to adjust the view to get rid of the virtual cockpit, i saw a "homecockpit mod" in the setting but it seems that it is not working

Any advices on how i could setup the best view for this setup ?

I tried to move forward till the shield is align but it feel very weird when flying especially during take off and landing

Thanks

I'm pretty sure in the top center on-screen access bar there is a view with the camera menu that give a complete clear view forward.

Need to try that 🙂 hope i can find a good solution,

To bad that the homecockpit mod doesnt work

all home cockpit mode does is disable the camera shake and turning, both 2020 and 2024 do nothing for home cockpit users unless you swap to a model that has been developed for the home cockpit- like prosim

Asobo said they would develop the mode to enable the user to deselect parts of the model from rendering but nothing materialised- not on the xbox roadmap !

Edit- you could comment out the 3d cockpit in the model section of 2020, but you will lose the effects and lights etc

Like others I find it so frustrating that we now have aircraft models that are more sophisticated than ever before, and outside scenery that can be so true to life, yet MS refuse to make any real facilities for cockpit builders.  For the last 4 years I have been waiting in vain for the ability to switch my E195 cockpit from P3D5 to MSFS. My hopes were raised when FS2024 was announced, but once again disappointment. Still limited facilities for using popouts on instrument panels, messy key bindings and a total lack of proper multi screen capabilities, like view groups with view frustrums allowing accurate and adjustable outside views. And still no means of getting a clear outside view, from a realistic eye point, on even a single screen. Even FS9 could do that.

I know for a fact that there is a way of accessing the config file and tweaking a line in the camera section to remove the VC all together. I have seen it explained on the forum here.

Thank you, yes I have also seen it mentioned although I have not seen confirmation of it in use, or how it affects other things. On its own it would not help with my setup, but I do hope we eventually get much better multi monitor support. Large tvs are much cheaper now and make good use of the remarkable graphics, but they also highlight image distortion when views are stretched without more sophisticated angular corrections.

Given their target market is XBOX and casual gamers, I’d say the odds of eventually getting P3D level support in MSFS for home cockpits is not good.  But with P3D dying a slow death, we just have to live with what we get.  Win some, lose some.  It’s a mixed bag for sure.
