Thanks again, but so far I still didn''t get it to function. I assigned both actions to joystick buttons that aren't bound to anything else, but no matter how hard I press these buttons, BATC is still asleep. I will give it another try tomorrow, no doubt I will get it to work. BTW, I exclusively fly the Fenix aircraft, BATC should work with these airplanes as well, right?

Yes, no issues with Fenix at all. Never had an issue with the button assignments and I frequently change them depending on whether I use my Airbus setup or Boeing yoke. Must be something on your end. Have you tried assigning a keyboard command and see if that works to narrow it down to an issue with your controller?

What controller are you using?

Yes, it can be used without a microphone via user interface and button control and/or automatic copilot handling most comms for you.

I am using a Thrustmaster Sidestick and throttle quadrant. I did bind BATC's actions to two of the side stick buttons

Kind regards,

Weird, I use the same hardware assuming you mean the TCA Airbus stick and throttle unit?
Have the long trigger assigned to fire action 1 and the button above the long trigger for bringing BATC to the front. Never had a problem, sorry I can’t be of more help.

Yes, that's right. I assigned button 14 to fire action 1 and button 14 for bringing BATC to the front. I am just scratching my head almost hairless thinking about what I might have overlooked. FSUIPC? If so, I need to install it. Since I didn't get an error message I take it that FSUIPC is not necessary.

No, you don’t need FSUIPC or anything else. It should just work. Have you tried restarting, reconnecting the controller etc?

Important to know: when the BATC window is active (like after you clicked on it) and you hide it using the toggle key you can NOT bring it back using that key as long as the window remains active (in the background)! You have to click on another window (like the MFSF screen) to deactivated the BATC window before you can bring it back using the toggle.

You can toggle it on and off ten times in a row as long as you don't click on the window. Click on it once and the toggle stops working (after hiding the UI) until you make another window the active one.

Hard to explain LOL but once you know this a mystery will be totally solved.

Test this: bring BATC to the front, click on the window, hide it using your toggle key, try to bring it back using you toggle key... It won't happen. Click on the MSFS screen and use your toggle again the BATC window will come up! Don't touch it and keep on clicking your toggle key: the UI will toggle on and off without any problem.

i have BATC on a second screen, but there is also an msfs toolbar option. download it here https://www.beyondatc.net/download , it is called 'VR Toolbar'. download it, extract it and copy the folder to your community folder. you can use it like the default atc. that stops you having to bring it to front all the time if you have one screen. i have used it in fs2020 and fs2024 with no problems. just start BATC as normal, click fly, in msfs on your toolbar there will be a 'BeyondATC' icon. below is a screenshot of my options and the BeyondATC toolbar option open. Hope it helps.

Same here. I will get the toolbar option, though, as it seems more convenient. I am grateful for your extensive assistance, later today I will have a chance and time to try to get BATC and its toggles to working. Will keep you posted.

Afaik you can't access the toolbar version with a key or button. Correct? It also doesn't have the map (for taxiing) afaik. I might have a look myself anyway.

thats correct, no shortcut option, or option to open airport map using the toolbar icon. i have only used it when im in the air. it is very handy and a nice option to have if ever needed, or if my second screen is being used for something else.

Correct, you have to click on it in the toolbar to bring it up. I remember reading it's some sort of sim limitation.

It doesn't have the taxi map either (also a sim limitation). Otherwise it works the same as the desktop app.

I finally got BATC to work 🙂 The toolbar thingy works great for me. Also, there was an update to BATC just before I launched it. Again, thank you so much for your help and assistance, I owe you one.
