December 13, 20241 yr Given the relative similarity between these two airplanes, which one would you recommend or prefer? Is the Cessna Corvalis that is included in the Standard edition a good substitute for the Cirrus SR22 that is only available in the Premium version? Which one do you think flies better in 2024? flightsim.to - map

Based on his questions I am guessing he hasn't purchased it yet and is contemplating which version to purchase, so he likely can't try them both or he would not have asked the question. Anyway I can't answer it either as I have only tried the basic version for 2 weeks on the $1 Game Pass trial. I did fly the Corvalis then and thought it was quite nice, but would also be interested in other opinions on these two aircraft. I will not be purchasing 2024 outright until more of the 'dust' settles, and then I will have to make a decision on Standard or Premium Deluxe myself. December 14, 20241 yr Author Correct. I only have the Corvalis with the Standard version. As I understand that we will be able to purchase individual planes from the other versions eventually, I was curious to hear what those folks who have access to both (or who have flown the SR22 in FS2020 and the Corvalis in 2024) would say about the differences between them. I notice that in "real life" this also tends to be a question that is often asked. flightsim.to - map
December 14, 20241 yr The cirrus is more accurate overall - and done to a higher standard. Working Title did the avioncs and systems upgrades for the "G6 turbo" version in 2020 and that has been passed on to 2024. Plus it has flight into known icing certification. I also recommend using Boris sound pack for the Cirrus. The Corvallis is pretty much fine nothing special done by Carenado. Sounds are mediocre at best. Both use G1000nxi. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
December 14, 20241 yr The Cirrus has a washed out windshield (which will be addressed ... eventually). The flight dynamics are pretty dull and predictable. It's a fascinating aircraft in real life, but the reworked sim version always felt a little off to me (which is not to say I liked the first version in MSFS 2020, just with all the hype of the reworked MSFS 2020 version and now the 2024 version it falls short of my expectations. On the up side the sounds are pretty good and the parachute works (everyone plays with that once, right?). One more major annoyance for me: the trim indicator doesn't work. The Corvalis is ugly. And small. And slower than a 400 should be (some claim). But it actually flies quite nicely. System depth is surface-level only but it's not at all the worst thing Asobo has dished up. Lively to hand fly in a satisfying way. My recommendation: spend the tiny extra few $ and get the full collection of aircraft. Then tell us which one you prefer.
