December 31, 20241 yr I never really use the default pushback option but today MSFS2024 positioned me too close to a building so I pressed the default pushback key expecting it would push me backwards in a straight line until I pressed the key again. This would give me some room to make the turn for taxi without accidents. This is how it worked in the past afaik. And if I wanted to make a turn during taxi I would have to press certain keys somehow to get that done (which I never really got to work properly). However, to my surprise this time the pushback automatically started a turn, straightened out again and stopped when I was perfectly aligned in the appropraite direction for taxi... while I only pushed the key once...! I didn't tell it where to put me or anything! I only had to press the key again to let the pushbacktruck go! That was rather awesome! So... did I miss this feature in MSFS2020 or had this feature been greatly improved in MSFS2024? Anyone else experienced the same? Anyway, I will be using this default option for all my flights now. Curious to see if future pushbacks are just as perfect automatically!

December 31, 20241 yr Author I am going to start a new flight on another aiport just to test this pushback feature once again. Edited December 31, 20241 yr by mistolip
December 31, 20241 yr Happens to me when I use the Fenix efb pushback. I've not really investigated yet but I suppose I should. Rob Jones.
December 31, 20241 yr Author Gave it another try at another aiport: this time it wasn't perfect but it did turn me slightly into the right direction anyway. Good enough to get going. It's at least way better than the old default pushback. I only have to press the key once and it does everything (including turn and stopping) by itself. Good enough for me!
December 31, 20241 yr The default pushback command in MSFS 2020 is Shift-P. I do not know if that has been changed in MSFS 2024. The point of my post was that MSFS2024 seems to have improved the pushback so there is no problem here. 😉 I just tried it again and it seems pushback always pushes you back a little and also turn a little. Seems a bit random... My first experience apparently was a lucky one. Still, it's good enough for me.
