January 16, 20251 yr Is this possible? If it is possible, will I be able to migrate my Premium Deluxe version, and aircraft and airport add-ons from MSFS 2020 Steam version to MSFS 2024 Microsoft Store version? Thank you in advance.

FS2024 will be a different purchase, and according with the experience with FS2020, buying the Steam version is the best option over the MS Store version. You're not asking, but my advice, in case you have disk space and everything, keep your current FS2020 installed, at least for a while. January 16, 20251 yr I swapped from Store MSFS20 Premium Deluxe to Steam Standard MSFS24 edition. All my purchases transferred across ok as well, including the DeLuxe and Premium Deluxe MSFS20 items.

January 16, 20251 yr I can't see how having a Steam launcher in front of the MS game can affect lost settings or give quicker updates ... but we shall see 🙂 After the 'experience' of the FS20 Alpha and the MS Store I was very happy to go Steam for the retail version - but once MS had sorted it all out Steam just made it harder to buy stuff from the Marketplace IMHO. ...

I think for FS24 that Steam is just an unnecessary complication without any advantage. That's good to know. I submitted a support ticket asking the same question to Microsoft before posting here. But, never got an answer from them. So, I appreciate your info. I know what you mean by 'unnecessary complication'. It's very likely that adding another software layer or 3rd party such as Steam results in just that. Another reason that I am thinking of transferring from Steam in addition to the lack of compatibility with Xbox is their 2-hour limit window for refunds which might be an issue with problems arising from MSFS 2024.

I did exactly that. My 2020 was Steam. My 2024 is Store. Everything I had bought in the marketplace and that came with 2020 migrated over to 2024. No problems at all. But you have to use your same Xbox gamertag when you buy and install 2024 from the store. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. January 16, 20251 yr The reason I changed from Steam to Store was because we have an Xbox console in our living room. The store version is free on Xbox console if you already own in on a PC version. Also I bought 2024 from CDkeys which only sells the Store version (and it's at a steep discount). 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Thank you for the info confirming that moving from Steam to the Store also transfers add-ons purchased in Steam and the Marketplace.. Much appreciated. How does one use the gamertag? I thought it was automatic when purchasing anything from Steam and the Marketplace.

January 16, 20251 yr They only have a certain number. You need to pay attention to your location. They don't list how many are left, but they do warn when stock is low. The choices list your location, such as buying from Europe, or USA, or rest of the world. There are codes for 2020 and for 2024 so you have to select the right one. After you buy you get step by step instructions (basically that tells you where on Xbox store is the box to enter your discount code. This box is furnished by Microsoft and it's for codes on any discount purchase on the Xbox store, including the code for cdkeys msfs). Gamertag is automatic but pay attention when you purchase that it's showing your same old gamertag. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel.
