No conspiracy but reality and they MS/Asobo hope people will move on from MS2020 for support so they can focus more on fixing the alpha/beta project that is called MS2024. MS 2020 may get some scenery updates but that is about it but no improvement to the core sim. Edited January 30, 20251 yr by JBDB-MD80

Everytime I tried the Map enhancement mod, I ran into problems in the sim, which were instantly cured by removing the mod. Why Asobo doesn't start using the new Bing maps, is beyond me. Just seems like they don't give a darn.

It is in the works I suppose, like everyone else I don't know when it will be out. I doubt it is neglected though, just delayed. I seem to remember having read somewhere that, when possible, progress in MSFS 2024 would be backported to 2020. Correct me if I'm wrong. Correct me if I'm wrong. That is what I thought they had said as well, hence the question as it really looks like something is different for the better. Now if people look at my screenshots and say you're crazy that's what my 2020 has looked like all along then it was just something on my end but on my PC it definitely looks better. If people don't look at my screenshots and say you're crazy well that's a fair assessment too 😉 I don't think the pictures look placebo and the fact it is all smooth and stutter free is quite refreshing whether it's placebo or not. There is another option as well which is 2020 server load dropping. Who knows if resources are freeing up... Or I'm just wrong 🤦♂️ Wouldn't be the first time or the last. January 30, 20251 yr I confirm that in the last couple of days, MSFS has been looking differently in a positive way- crisp ground textures even in the distance, better light environment, better performance (I am not using dlss 4.0, yet). Clouds also seem nicer. Dragos I9-13900K/ Gigabyte RTX 4090 Gaming OC/ Aorus Master Z790/ Kingston 64GB@6000Mhz DDR 5/ 2TB nvme 0.2 Samsung 980 PRO/ Deepcool LS720

That doesn't mean they can't be making server side changes, updates or upgrades if they are seamless. They are doing it in 24 without an "update" so why couldn't they do the same in 2020? If you look at the screenshots is that what your 2020 has looked like all along? It's certainly not what mine has looked like all along, especially with the 777 out of Newark! I'm used to a lot of blurriness outside the immediate LOD area right around the plane. Now it looks much sharper and the detail has been extended to much greater distances. They aren't. Because the only content that they're updating server-side is in MSFS 24. Edited January 30, 20251 yr by chapstick

Who at MS has confirmed this as fact? Again, your MSFS has always looked like those screen shots? Just curious how you have such definitive knowledge. I have no problem being wrong but would prefer sources to you just saying no. Edited January 30, 20251 yr by psolk Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
