February 15, 20251 yr Today I downloaded and installed Nvidia's new 572.42 driver. The driver is working good and don't have any problems in P3D but I do have a question. When I get a new driver I would delete the P3D shader folder and the Nvidia shader cache files. I can't seem to find the location of the Nvidia shader files anymore. They used to be located at Users/USERNAME/AppData/LocalLow/NVIDIA/PerDriverVersion/DXCache but I don't have the PerDriverVersion folder anymore. I guess they changed it with this new driver. Where are they located now?
February 15, 20251 yr Did you do a clean install? Maybe, when doing so, you may have already cleared the Nvidia shaders . February 15, 20251 yr Never before heard about deleting the NVIDIA shaders. I installed the driver recently and the NVidia schaders are most of the install date and one from Jan 30. Seems not to be a problem so far. When I first started doing this I was told it was a good idea to do it (don't know exactly why). I guess it's now just a habit of mine to delete the shaders when a new driver gets released.

I have two tools, SimstarterNG and Lorby Addon Manager. Both delete P3D shaders only with their respective tools. February 18, 20251 yr According to this reddit thread , Quote Shader cache locations have been changed for 571.86 and later drivers - %LOCALAPPDATA%\NVIDIA\DXCache and %LOCALAPPDATA%\NVIDIA\GLCache But as @blaunarwal already stated, I never removed the NVIDIA shader cache, just the P3D shaders directory. I think, the NVIDIA location is used if an application doesn't set it by itself.
