February 28, 20251 yr I've had a few beers tonight, Gen X contributed a lot of music and culture, this song may not be for most but it is one for me, it was the last concert I went to before moving to New Zealand knowing that Depeche Mode would never come to NZ, I grew up with them and I am so grateful to see them live... My cousin had a black Austin Healey roadster when he was stationed in Germany in the late 50's -- probably about that same time (1958) or slightly before. He had emblems on it for each country he had visited with the car. It was black with a red interior. He had it shipped to the USA but later sold it. VROOM he drove it all over and gave rides to the girls. These are the stories that we GenX heard first-hand from the WW2 "greatest" gen (born 1910-1925) or the generation born after that in the 1925-1945 time period (what are they called? "Tweeners"? My dad was one). I think the WW2 gen were the toughest. They played football with no helmet. And they were not allowed to drink water during football practice in August. And I have war stories from WW2 from grandpa...a lot of it was bad and too much to go into here. I feel bad that the Millenials never got to hear those things first-hand. It's really eye-opening. I remember the road rallies and the motor crosses held on Sundays on vacant super market parking lots. Back then stores were closed on Sundays. Someone in town still has a black Austin Healey and I see it from time to time like a blast from the past. The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. The steering is wobbly. But the engine still runs fine.

March 2, 20251 yr I had a 1960 Austin Healey 3000. Wish I still had it. British green, hardtop convertible. We jimmied a Datsun 1600 hardtop to fit, just had to modify the clamps a little, LOL. It kept the rain off and really didn't look bad. Edited March 2, 20251 yr by Penzoil3

Dave I would never argue with that, and I won't say so much other then that, for me the greatest Sit Com moment in the history of Mankind is this when I was a kid sitting with my Dad, I loved Taxi....
