Which is fine yes if the update takes a minute but it is an entertainment product and people don't like to wait 15 mins to play! 

Imagine if your TV did that! They usually ask you very politely if you don't mind updating if it's OK with you 😁

I really want to make the point that mandatory itself is objectionable to me. Maybe people are used to it by now but I don't like being told, ordered, compelled, commanded etc to make a change to software that works fine for me. I like to be informed that there is a recommended update. It's my pc and my files after all. EULA be dammed it's the principle 😉

And it's always the same dudes, who can't seem to wrap their heads around the concept that WE ALL SEE the update when whe we load up the sim and we don't need to be told about it as if it was just happening on specific systems.

I remember when TVs were full of valves.
When I was a boy, in this country there was only one channel and the idea was to switch the TV on and go and at least have a cup of tea,
if not a whole meal, while it warmed up.

Keep in mind that MSFS is "multiplayer" and for it work as intended across all mainstream users, every single user must have the same version. If MSFS was a standalone title then I would agree with you 100%.

It's always part (the generic airports) of the monthly AIRAC update. Don't worry.

Mine was downloaded in probably less than 4 seconds (from 4 Mbps to 140 Mbps at the end of the process).
